Geez mohammad. Calm down and stop with the personal attacks. The guy was just asking a simple question that many of us were wondering.
Thanks. That's exactly right, I was just wondering. Thought maybe somebody here knew a little something about it that I didn't. I thought his post was very ignorant too, as well as uncalled for. At least I got a reply back from an intelligent person who understood what I was saying- appreciate you.

Remember when we had corners that shut down WRs and were great at tackling but this board didn’t like them because they didn’t get turnovers?

If you want a corner who is a ballhawk you may lose something somewhere else.
You're not wrong, except we've seen Diggs make the open field tackles before. It's not like he can't. This isn't the same as a guy who cannot tackle or never did.

Diggs is exactly the kind of player the Cowboys gush over, pay top dollar and then get a solid player in return. Diggs is a good guy to have in the back end, but not at $25M per. He is not a complete player.

I would still love to know what in the world changed with Diggs late this year. I know he was never a very enthusiastic tackler, neither was NEON DEION - but he wanted no part of any physical contact at the end of this season. Was he told to avoid getting injured at all costs considering the shape we were in with CBs. After losing Brown and Lewis, and finding out Joseph sucked, did the team tell him to no matter what make sure he didn't get injured. That would at least make it make some sense because if he did go down wed have been in a huge mess at CB. Just wondering, still can't understand it.
Excellent Question!
He sure changed the way he played at the end of the season.
But in the playoffs you cant play afraid like that.

If you have 10 INTs and it is the regular season I will defend you to the death. If you have 3 INTs and it is the playoffs you best be ready to help your team out in other ways.

The fact that it changed from the beginning of the season to the end of the season is a clue.

Notice that it started about the time that LVE "looked" much better.

Quinn made changes to the defense after the Packers game.

Early in the season he had LVE playing a conservative style. Ok to give up some rushing yards but don't let the ball carrier get past you. Stay on your feet as much as possible.

Later in the season he let LVE play more aggressively but about that time Diggs started to avoid contact and always "stay on his feet". They also played more zone coverage. In man, Diggs played more off and less press.

Also, after CB Brown's injury, they started rolling the FS to the side opposite of Diggs. i.e. Diggs often last line of defense...

The morons that love to hate everything Cowboys will dispute this despite the fact most of them have never spent a minute reviewing the All-22 game footage.

Cant steal stuff that I never knew existed, lol. Never read anything of yours here or anywhere before. Guess you were thinking what I was too.
Or maybe we’re both wrong and Diggs is planning on sitting out training camp until he gets a new deal and no way was he risking the payday that will set him up for life.

I get it. Diggs looked like he was avoiding contact for a few games. And maybe he was. But how about we talk about how he shut down some of the the top receivers in the league? Remember Justin Jefferson? Terry McLauren? Ja'marr Chase? Go back and see how Diggs shut them all down. It wasn't just them. The best receivers in the league were held in check by Trevon Diggs.

I admit, there were times late in the year when he was embarrassed by some double moves and he didn't stick his head in there and make some tackles. But he is a really good CB and the Cowboys will miss him when he is gone. And he will be gone in after this season.

This OP is proof positive that many Cowboys fans are complete buffoons

How anyone can believe in this crap is beyond me

Diggs is tissue paper
Cannot tackle
Does not want to tackle
Is all about the money

I hope like heck we don’t pay him
i am really pissed at him hope they think of trading him because he will completely stop tackling after getting paid.

Agree - he is the perfect example of a player our fan base gushes over and want to quickly over pay.... fast forward a year and he shows his limitations, and true colors in a way. He is a great corner, but his wanting to jump routes is his kryptonite. I would take a CB like Ramsey or Gilmore who don't get a lot of picks because QBs are scared to throw in their direction. No one is scared to throw at Diggs.

my 2 cents

To my knowledge no member of the media even bothered to ask the question as to why/what happened. I believe it is a fair question to pose to someone on the coaching staff or front office.

cant hold out forever he will be fined big money and hes under contract and like Bell he could easily have this backfire.. maybe not show up to anything voluntary and holdout a bit but the season, doubt that, Jerry caved a bit on zeke but for Diggs i doubt he does that again,

"Diggs ain't paid to tackle".
But he was dropping INTs down the stretch and in the playoffs plus got beat more and the no hit whiff on kittles, no tackle needed. more effort. he dropped off late and dont know why but it doesn't bolster his hold out plans. imagine of he blew up kittles and caught that INT , would have cemented a new deal with big game moment. maybe would have changed that game

This...I've heard briefly about his "tackling" but just shrug it off and continue with other things. Have yet to hear the media calling him out on that.

Instead of waiting for that and making it contentious, trade him before this becomes public, get a rd 1 pick and let someone else pay him 22 million /y

That’s what a good GM would do
