Was Escobar Inactive?

Sure seemed that way. It's like he wasn't even suited up.

Another frustrating part of the play calling.

I saw him playing ST.

I was wondering why he wasn't in much with the offence when we were getting blitzed. With him in there as the receiver, defense has to guess if it's a run or pass more so than a WR.

Maybe I'm remember it wrong but it sure seemed like Dallas spent an awful lot of time in 3 WR sets with Beasley in the game.

Which, to me, goes along with my problem that I felt they were trying to force the issue of passing the ball on big pass plays, rather than sticking with what had been working for them all year long.

I feel like some weeks he is in the gameplan in a big way and other times he just isn't

Escobar is more of a downfield threat then Beasley is. Beasley definitely has areas of strength and needs looks, but they need to be using Escobar when they want to attack the seam out of the slot

Escobar sure would seem a great way to beat an all out blitz....
Ya know the quick hitter to 6'7" guy.

This brings up a question.

Every year we hear about our weapons (Beasley, Escobar, Felix & Bennett [back in the day], Dunbar, etc.), yet when the season begins, we rarely use them.

Is this on Romo? Staff? Who?

I would think Dunbar's speed could've been used a lot to bust the blitz, and I think Escobar is vastly underused.

Yeah, the Skins had a real problem with their slot CB play. I'm sure we planned on taking advantage of that this week with Beasley. Couldn't get to it because we couldn't beat the dang blitz.

Escobar, Dunbar and Harris--we can't figure out how or when to use them effectively.

Used Escobar pretty effectively against the Giants, I thought. Perhaps we should start playing with two balls on offense each series. That way we don't have to hear about how we don't run it enough, or get Dez or Terrence, or Witten enough touches if we get Escobar, Dunbar, and Harris the ball in a game we end up losing.

Should have been 2 and 3 TE sets once they realized the blitz was going to come non-stop. That is all on the coaches who failed to see it until it was too late.

I was begging for some delay-draws, quick slants and screens...................

That was Romos fault.

That's why it was more mind boggling that he wasn't involved more in the offense last night. Escobar did really well against the Giants and he would have been a better option as the receiver against the blitzing defense.

It's all hindsight, but I think when you're playing a team with a questionable slot CB, Cole Beasley starts to look like a fairly reasonable option. And they obviously played Hanna more this game because they anticipated needing the extra blocking and he gives you more than Escobar does in that area.
This was a team with some huge questions in their secondary. I was really, really surprised by how well they handled our wide outs, even given the pressure last night. It's not something I'd have bet on their ability to do going into this game, and I think it's one of the most surprising factors in the loss. That and repeatedly putting the ball on the ground in the running game. That absolutely killed us.
