Was initial kickoff deliberately onside?

I heard the commentator say that wind was only 3 MPH. He mentioned this because the ball fell over before it was kicked.

Yep it was planned. Some folks even said there wasn't any wind on that play...

Did Garrett invent the 80 yard onside kickoff? I cant help but to think so since there were three kickoffs during the game that were handled the same way. Kicked to about the 10 yard line as our speedsters raced down and tried to make something happen?

It got us the ball early on the 20 and really sparked the momentum for us all the way to 21-0. Perhaps im being a little too wishful with this but I know Bailey could've kicked that out of the end zone, and I also know he can put a vicious back spin on the ball, so what say you all?

Where have you been the last 3 days?

The kick returner was dancing around before the kickoff for the cameras, so Im sure he wasnt ready for anything remotely like that.......I guess thumping his chest after the Cowboys scored and saying it was on him made him feel a bit better. I loved it.......couldnt happen to a better team.

I for one thought Bailey may have pulled something , and was very pleased to see his later kickoffs more normal, and more importantly his FG high and right down the center of the uprights.

That was a designed kickoff. Sal Pal said yesterday that the Cowboys studied film and saw that the upback (Brad Smith) starts running up and does not turn around to see where the ball lands.

Interesting if true. Smith clearly was paying attention knew it was at least somewhat short, as he was communicating with Huff that Huff should take it anyway.

Answer to that was no. The wind caused the ball to drop quickly in a pocket between Eagles players. It was more of an act of God rather than a act of Garrett.

True then again Dallas special teams played solid through out the game. On that particular player the wind kicked up forcing the ball to come up short but Cowboy players still hustled it down the field and got on that ball, no one was loafing around.

When I watched the game later, it looked like the ball nose-dived (the arc suddenly angled down) around the 25-30 yard line, so it looked like it caught a wind gust to me.

there was a gust of wind as ball was in the air and just died up there. Eagle fans who are regular season ticket holders where saying they never saw a ball just die like that before. Things are bouncing the cowboys way. Its long over-due.
