Was it a catch?

There were some shady calls, they got that one right.

he had it pinned between his arm and his abdomen, then it moved too much when he hit the ground though it didn't come loose. If he had his hand on it instead of his forearm he may have had a case
But when it popped out, it popped up into his body and then he re-secured it. He didn't trap it on the ground. It looked to me like his arms were under the ball when it popped up. I don't know. Probably just the homer in me wishing it was a catch.

Not close. Hit ground and bounced: He controlled a bouncing ball

You know, I have a question about that. If the ground can't cause a fumble then if you catch the ball and it moves a little because of the ground, why isn't it a catch?

Well, perhaps if you can be considered to have control of the ball when it is in midair with nothing touching the ball. Seriously? I hated both tripping calls and there were other calls worth questioning (both ways), but this couldn't have been more clear.

Nope.. Ball hit the ground and bounced out of his arm before he regained control..

If was a catch, great......still had to march 60 yds to score a TD. Odds were extremely low with the coaching braintrust we have. Just would have extended the final disappointment.
