Was James Harrison really not penalized for either hit?

One of them wasn't illegal. The other one is questionable and he will likely be fined for it.

I just saw them...he led with his helmet BOTH times. I remember Darren Woodson did NOTHING illegal to Bobby Wade of the Seahawks...but because he hit him some hard and the guy did not get up...he drew a flag. So Harrison should have drawn a flag for that lone...but I guess if is is Pitt it does not happen like that!

Questionable?

He led with the helmet and then taunted.

Steelers' Harrison: I don't care if I hurt players

10/18/2010 2:54:03 PM

According to the Associated Press, Steelers linebacker James Harrison states his objective matter-of-factly: He's out to hurt any opposing player who roams into his vicinity.

If he sees players down on the turf -- as he did Sunday when he sidelined Browns wide receivers Joshua Cribbs and Mohamed Massaquoi with punishing hits only minutes apart during the second quarter -- he feels as if he's done his job.

Harrison said he doesn't want to put any player out of a game or jeopardize his career.

This is football. Don't let them take away our game.

Really, what's next, make em play hop scotch. They make the big bucks for a reason, it's not to wear a skirt.

I haven't seen a very good slow-mo shot of the hit on the WR. Sure didn't see taunting, although I only checked it once. I think he'll likely get fined for it because it was very rough.

If you are a RB, which Cribbs was, the leading with the helmet doesn't apply.

I posted on this right after it happened. I was livid at the time too. We can barely touch a guy without a flag coming out and he gets away with leading with the helmet twice in the first half. This officiating this year is rediculous.:bang2:

I dont get why "his" is bold. He said he doesn't want to put a player out of the game or jeopardize their career. If it was one of our players everyone one be crying about taking a players word out of context. I like him as a player, tote that line if the refs let you.

Why wouldnt you want a player like that? I bet WR heads are on a swivel when going across the middle of Pittsburgh's D. The middle of our D is usually wide open.

On top of it all he came out and said that it is his job to hurt people. The double standard is sickening...

After saying that in public, the refs should kick him out of the game if he even looks cross-eyed at another player.
