Was Murray benched the first half after putting the ball on the ground?

Yes. The turnover message was being delivered loud and clear by Garrett after the debacle last week. Good coaching

Good for Garrett. I like the way he is handling the team.

I kinda imagine they focused a lot this week on securing the ball. Not a good idea to go out and immediately fumble it. It was nice to see a reaction with some teeth in it.

He was benched after not running a crossing route beyond the chains. That came after the fumble. His catch did not get the first and made it fourth down, forcing a punt.

He just didnt seem like his head and heart was in it. Is it me or does it seem like he isn't seeing the field or anticipating where the cut back is? Seems that Dunbar and Randle and even Tanner are seeing the field better and hitting the holes with authority and bouncing it outside when need be. I liked what I saw from Tanner and Randle tonight. Can't wait for Dunbar to come back he has that speed and vision that Jamaal Charles seems to have. Like I said I think Dunbar is a better back for this offense. I just wonder if he can take the pounding.

No. Garrett said he was benched for the fumble

I'm one of the few that never really cared for Murray. He seems like a combination of Julius Jones with poor vision but decent speed sprinkled with some Marion Barber power without the passion.

overreaction to a bad evening during a pre-season game. he is much better than either of those two backs. his heart wasn't in it tonight until JG sat him. point was made, and he responded the way a good player does. if he showed any entitlement that was erased this evening in front of the team.

I think it's better that Murray responded well in that drive in the 2nd half. And we also got to see Tanner get some carries. I liked how Randle looked late in the game. Really the first time all preseason he looked like he had speed.

SMOKE SCREEN....Some team wanted to see Tanner run with the ones. I smell a trade for a vet guard involving Tanner......At least in my dreams I do....Murray, Dunbar, and Randle are plenty. Go get OL Help by using Tanner....Lots of teams need backs right now.
