Was ridding Ronald Jones a mistake?

Defenses are playing a tight and challenging us to throw deep. Until we do, there will be no running game. Short passes will be caught and stopped immediately. Rendering McCarthy's game plan/scheme ineffective.

Name just one player who's made a difference when it counted. Also, point out any leader in this organization that has made any marked difference.
Parsons, Diggs, Pollard, Lamb, and so on. It is like you nothing about football.

Exactly. SF played us in single high man-to-man coverage and loaded heavy fronts all day, because they had zero fear of our receivers.

Ill admit i was clamoring to get rid of zeke and elevate pollard to the #1 back. Ill eat crow and say pollard is not a legit #1 rb. Hes a 2rb and more of a gadget player. Good grief
Good on you....

but there was never any indication Pollard had or could assume that role. In fact there was a moment last year that indicated he probably couldn't.

Well anyway..we're in it now. Try to do the best we can.

MM must adjust but without a running game, it’s next to impossible.

...looking at our RB situation right now. We basically, have two RB's who do Ok and are limping around. (TP/Dowdle)

Vaughn is practically non-existent. Leupke is gadget player.

Jones had Zeke power, and more speed. He could have brought the 1-2 punch offense needed.

Is it mandatory, you cut a player after PED/s accusations?
FIRST: The Cowboys have been at least solid, and sometimes strong, rushing the ball in all games except the SF game. Even with the SF game they have the 8th highest yards per game in the NFL.

SECOND: I liked the "idea" of Ronald Jones, but that's largely based on remembering him from 2020. His role was reduced in 2021 and almost non-existent with the Chiefs in 2022, so I have no idea what he would actually be capable of today. We can't simply assume he would help out at this point.

Actually I wanted to keep him because honestly I'm not sure Pollard is better. I wasn't than
and I'm not now

I bet he's got his own definition of "when it counted."
When doesn't it count?
In big games. Some of you are delusional when it comes to this team and their output. Do you understand that?

How many teams have won 25 games in the last 2 years? Subtract that total from 32.

Jones may have been a better 3rd back than Vaughn. That is fair.
Saying Jones has more power than Zeke is absurd. Jones was a speed/slash back. Was at Coppell/McKinney in High School and at USC.
He very much was NOT the power back in Tampa.
He is under 210 pounds. --in fairness perhaps he is heavier and much stronger after serious PEDs but he hasn't shown in ANYWHERE....

The team didn't cut him for PED use, they cut him for the roster spot.
They don't want to expose Vaughn to waivers because someone it is likely will pick him up.

You have got to be kidding. Fournette and White keep him on the bench in Tampa and he was nothing last year. Nope every RB on the roster is better than Jones.

I like M Davis. I do feel that we still lack depth. Vaughn to the PS and bring in FA RBs for a workout. Or, trade for a RB contrast to Pollard.
