Yeah he was but remember it is easier to see open players sitting in front of a tv or looking at a computer screen than when you have 300lb DT's coming at you.
It doesn't matter. You could probably find an open receiver on every play. The play was designed and set up to be a quick developing pass to Glenn on the right. The QB was not expected, nor did he have time to work through his progressions all the way across to the other side of the field in that situation.
Do any of you even understand what it means for a QB to go through his progressions?
You don't just drop back and look around for an open guy. You go through your progressions. Obviously Witten was not at the top of Bledsoe's progression.
Either way, that's TWO patterns being ran SHORT Of the TD/FD on a 4th down play. Stupid play either way you look at it.
I was furious that we ran the ball on 2nd down. EVERYONE knew that we were going to run left on 2nd down. Play action pass and we probably score a TD. On the other screen about exactly the same time, philthy runs a play action pass on 1st or 2nd down from inside the 5 and has two wide open WRs for an easy TD.
After we fail to gain any yards running in the middle (AGAIN!) on 2nd, they knew we HAD to pass.
He's open, but as many have stated, he wasn't the first read. The second thing is he was no sure thing to get in, there were three Raiders in position to stop him.
I don't think play was bad because Terry was open except once again, like we've seen many of our receivers do, Terry was in front of the first down marker. The throw was bad by Bledsoe, but I think someone was in his lane. So even if he caught it, he probably would have been stopped.
Drew was to quick to pull the trigger......if someone was in the passing lane then Drew should have pulled the ball down and gone through his progressions.
