Wow....this is amazing. I'm spending a boatload of money to bring the fans daily coverage of Training Camp and can't even show much actual footage....FROM MY CAMERA!!!!! I'll follow the rules, but you'd better believe that you'll get that :45 secs daily!!!!

you aren't the news media

you aren't even the media

you are a fan.

The NFL is cracking down on Media, like DMN, SI, ESPN,

major media outlets that pull viewers away from team websites, because they offer what the teams website does and more

I'm probably one of the more anti-MSM folks here on Cowboyszone, but this policy does strike me as a bit of a slippery slope when it comes to content. If I take a movie at training camp or a game (which I paid to attend), am I going to get into trouble for placing that content on the internet? I recognize that today than answer is no....but what about tomorrow? The content is the key.....not the "media."

The way I read it, it is 45 seconds per clip. So show a clip, talk for a while, show a clip, talk some more.

:D
Man I wish I could do that!!!! I don't think I would show too much of the practice anyway but I might get to have some interviews and I would like to put that up. If I met Marian Barber at MacDonalds, I don't know how they could regulate my interview. I can understand inside their practice facilities, but do they own the player like that?

Don't they realize that fan site and message boards are making the NFL bigger everyday? The more exposure the better. When ESPN started, it was a new concept to have cable sports on TV....but it could reach a bigger audience thus helped the NFL make billions of dollars. The internet would reach far more than cableTV....thus making it a bigger opportunity for making money. The short-sightedness amazes me.

My first question would be, "Marion, why are you eating at McDonalds?"

I don't know Mr. Thrower of Stones, but I think away from the Practice Field and on Barber's own time is not at all covered by this restriction.

I just think they made up a very smart rule where they can extend it how ever long they want and not have to enforce the whole. They can do what they want when they see it....lol...Brilliant!

Yeah, but there seem to be a lot of restrictions at play.

I'm reminded of what happened to DCfanatic. I don't remember the particulars (I'd guess you do), but it sounded as if the Cowboys wouldn't allow an assistant coach to speak to DCfanatic. Were players also forbidden?

So I'm not so sure that players or coaches are allowed to talk to DCfanatic in McDonalds (with a microphone around).
