If you think this isn't significant, you're fooling yourself. No way there's a shot like that with Jerry and Norv otherwise. Jones is a master with the press; that was pretty orchestrated.

Norv wasn't sitting with Aikman when the announcement was made.

He was sitting with Jerry.

Norv and Jerry then looked at each other and the hand shake was made.

Didn't see Aikman or Garrett until Irvin's speech.

Was Norv shining Jerry's shoes? Fetching coffee?

Naw, that's ridiculous...

But photographers did capture a curious brown mole or birthmark near the end of Norv's proboscis that not been noticed previously...

Man, Aikman MUST be coming back to us also.

Jerry's offering him 3 mil a year to be Romo's backup/mentor... makes sense, now Romo will have THREE mentors-- Norv, Troy and Jason-- which is sure to turn him into the next great Cowboys quarterback...

And you guys thought Jerry didn't have a plan...

BTW, there is NO truth to the rumor that Troy demanded that Jerry hire Jack Buck to be his center if he agreed to come back... I personally believe that Buck started that rumor his own self...

The rumor is Norv was in the green room so now he is the leading candidate to be the head coach of the Cowboys. I got news for y'all. Wanna guess who else was in the green room? Jason Garrett.

Yeah, but did Jerry SHAKE HIS HAND??

That's the smoking gun here...

Norv and Jerry then looked at each other and the hand shake was made.

And hours later, both men were seen emerging from room 318 at the local Red Roof Inn, their clothes disheveled and the same guilty look on their faces...

The next morning, the desk clerk who checked them in was found dead of a single gunshot wound to the back of the head... a subsequent police search of room 318 turned up a collection of expensive lingerie, assorted leather equpiment and a 55 gallon drum of amyl nitrate...

He should throw a couple of 3 mill to Phillips and let him coach the defense, and then I will be on the Norv bandwagon.

Problem is Phillups is still under contract to San Diego, Rivera contract has expired with the Bears.

Money is not the issue, draft picks are. If you want Phillups to be DC, you have to hand over some picks to Diego.........

Picks for coaches is just dumb...........solution......pay Rivera and keep picks.

Listen...

Who cares WHO invited WHOM?...

Aikman had a hand in this whole recruiting Turner thing so it's no surprise here...

What I want to know is that you're so quick to rip into people here and telling them to get a "grip" yet how are you so sure this doesn't mean he's hired?...

This is really too much of coincidence, this deal is done guys. Some on here will dismiss what happened today and stick their head in the sand, but it wont change the fact Norv will be HC.

Anger...........Denial..........Acceptance:)

I think almost everyone has accepted that Norv is most likely going to be the next headcoach. But only a fool would think that Norv's attendance at the HOF PC had anything to do with him being the next HC. He would've been there regardless of the circumstances simply because of the impact he and Irvin had on each other's careers. He was there for Irvin, anything else was gravy.

I didn't read this thread until this morning, but the comments here make for better comedy than I have seen in a long time. I amost snarfed my coffee about six times. It's been apparent form the start that Jerry and Norv have a good relationship. It wouldn't surprise me that Jerry always has wondered how Norv would have done as the head coach after Jimmy left but the timing was never right. It might be "a bit much" reading anything into a congratulatory handshake, but the relationship and some nostalgia for the "glory days" clearly will play a factor in Jerry's decision on who will be the next head coach. I also happen to think Jerry wants desperately to win again and he will try to make the best decision he can to bring the Dallas Cowboys back to the Super Bowl. The relationship is a factor but not the deciding one.

I'm glad Michael made the HOF because it clearly was very important to him and he deserved it. If Norv becomes head coach, maybe we are seeing the beginning of a relationship that will people will point to as the start of a new glory day for the Cowboys.....it could happen.
