Aaron Rodgers has reportedly been "spotty at best" during OTAs in Green Bay.

Rodgers' dismal practice reports were a regular occurence last year and the Green Bay writers don't seem to think he's improved much. With Brett Favre taking some time off, Rodgers could be wasting an opportunity to impress the new coaching staff.

Maybe if Brett wasn't an A-hole and was willing to tutor the kid, he'd show more progress.

Farve knows he's not going to be around in a year or so, so if he cares about the organization at all, he would play the mentor role...

Farve has always played a style that cannot be teached.

And why is it neccessary he play a "mentor"? Do the Packers organization not employ a QB coach?

Jeff Tedford system qb's do not have a great track record in the NFL.
Kyle Boller anyone?
There's a reason Aaron Rodgers slipped in that draft.
Some stero-types about the draft...
Flordia wr's are over-hyped.
Tedford qb's do not translate to the NFL.
Texas Longhorn players are babied in college and it shows in the Off. and Def. lineman.

Rick Mirer and Cade McNown...WOW. Tedford is batting 1000.

don't hold me to it, but I think those 2 were coached by him, either McNown or Akili Smith

btw, glad we had 2 1st round picks with which to pass on Rodgers

Yeah.
I wanna say Dilfer was another qb under Tedford.
However I am not completely confident saying that.
I'm going to see if I can find Tedford's bio.

QBs under Tedford

Trent Dilfer
Akili Smith
Joey Harrington
David Carr
Kyle Boller
Aaron Rodgers

I searched Yahoo and found my answer by typing "Tedford curse" in the browser :)

I'm thinking it's Dilfer instead of Mirer
"Tedford has devised record-setting offenses at every stop. Under his tutelage, such quarterbacks as Trent Dilfer, Akili Smith, Joey Harrington, David Carr, Kyle Boller and Aaron Rodgers have blossomed into first-round NFL draft picks."
Found that under his bio at a Cal website.
Also down in that same article found out that Jay Feeley was another Tedford product...so let's switch out McNown and Mirer and put in Akili Smith, David Carr and Jay Feeley.
Not a big-time qb in the bunch as of now.
Just saw your last post...nice find.

I was never sold on Rogers even before I read that list of QB's...but now I'm even further convinced he won't amount to anything.

But David Carr...I think he can put up some decent numbers given time. He has good mobility in the pocket, pretty good accuracy, and a decently strong arm. And he can put pretty good touch on the ball as well. I think he can be a good starter in this league if he finds a new team or gets some better protection.

no amount of tutoring could help him...he should have never been a 1st rd pick, much like Kyle Boller, Patrick Ramsey & JP Losman (among others)

the guy just isnt very good

This is a guy who was a Alex Smith away from being the top player picked in last years draft? Actually I'm not so sure SF got that much of a better QB.

In my opinion, both Rodgers and Alex Smith were "manufactured" by the league as first round quarterbacks. It's as if the league needs to have quarterbacks atop its' draft each year - whether their talent merits it or not. I don't feel that either was ever deserving.

You get out what you put in; stop blaming Rodgers lack of performance on Favre of all people. Blame GB scouts for grading Rodgers worthy of a first round pick. He's developing more like a later round pick at this point.

And whoever said so is correct, Favre plays in a way that can't be taught.

Actually Favre probably will be around longer then GB organization wants. He's already backtracked on this previous comment that 06 would be his last season; now he's thinking about playing in 07. Gotta feel sorry for GB organization cause GB fans think Favre is a god & the organization simply doesn't feel it can cut him & begin long overdue reorganization. Of course with Aaron Brooks as future QB, they got nothing to be excited about in this area anyway.
