Parcells was a fool for not giving my boy TO the ball more. That was one of the most dominating wide reciever performances in NFL playoff history. But i guess we couldnt use him that way against the likes of Pete Hunter in last years playoffs.:bang2:

Thanks alot Bill!

TO was targeted on more passes than Marvin harrison, Roy Williams, Larry Fitzgerald, Steve Smith, Reggie Wayne and Lee Evans.

The only receivers who were thrown more passes than Terrell Owens last year were Torry Holt, Andre Johnson and Donald Driver.

I am mainly talking about the playoff game where the seahawks were trotting out real estate agents to defend our pro bowl wr.

Fair enough.

I'd take that up with Tony Romo, moreso - but that's just me.

I heard that T.O. told bill that game, that Romo was a Homo, and that he was gonna tell if he didn't retire.

And thats Why Romo didn't throw him the ball

That is all true. I was just disappointed in the ways they tried to get him the ball. I think he was under utilized in that fashion, especially toward the end of the year. They seemed to limit the types of routes he ran. And that is not really just a complaint about using T.O. I thought the same thing when Joey Galloway was here in Parcells offense. I don't think that offense got the most out of either receiver. Couple that with T.O. dropping the ball and you don't get a great combination. Not that it was bad because he put up good numbers, but it could have been better.

Watching the game now...and it was really a good game.

And it's interesting cuz watching the Giants play reminded me of the Cowboys. Get a big lead and then relax. It was a game where they should've put their foot on the 49ers neck, they let 'em back in the game.

This might be right. Similar to the thoughts that we should have had Ware blitzing more, we should have had Roy down in the box more - although doing what you suggest for TO wouldn't put the rest of the team in a bind like those other two would.

One thing I'd ask of anyone, or noone in particular - did you ever get the impression that we got the same Owens we were all familiar with? Yeah, he's still great - but in previous years, if he got the ball on a bubble screen in the flats, you were scared out of your mind. I never got that feeling this year. Yeah, he was nice, and he broke a few tackles...but I never really saw that gamebreaking ability on HGUE display. If that makes any sense.

He might just be getting too old for that.

I think it was because teams were more concerned about that. They knew that Parcells probably would run some plays like that. Whenever we did those bubble screens T.O. would shave that initial defender, but then two and three would get there before he could get going. He had at least 2 or 3 people watching him at all times.

So - in line with the thread's topic - do you believe that getting him the ball in those situations MORE often would have done any good? For whatever reason, he wasn't that dynamic in those situations - which are the situations everyone keeps hoping we put him in (screens, slants, etc.). If he wasn't that effective running them (Age, hand injury...couldn't fight off the line) why would we want to run them more?
