Put that on Jerry and Stephen. They could have gotten him in here last week.

I know. Jerry loves to run his franchise in the ground. After all, all we are doing is playing for draft picks anyway. The signing of Waters was just a cover for our real strategy which is to tank the season and go for the first overall pick, so we can pass on Clowney and really generate some media buzz.

Some posters here make certain assumptions about players with certain characteristics.

That was very precise. I know exactly what you mean. That post should be memorialized. Mods, can we stickie this so we can find it easily. This stuff is a work of genius. :)

I don't know the contract is only 1.5 Mill with a possiblity of going to 3 mill. I think it takes 2 to make a deal Cowboys were interested. I never expect Jerry or Stephen to pay out what ever someone wants it has to be a 2 way deal that benifets the Cowboys and the player

You mean the player has to agree to terms? Are you telling me that Jerry isn't omnipotent? Don't tell that to some of these guys... they will tar and feather you.

At his press conference today, Jason Garrett was asked about Waters playing on Sunday, and he didn't rule it out when he could have easily done so.

Or maybe he was being coy. Coaches do that sometime. :)

The incentives are likely easy to reach. But really, would you pay 3 mill a year for a probowl caliber guard?

Here is a hint. In two years we've paid Bernardeu over 6 mill. In two years we've paid Nate Livings over 6 mill.

Then let's throw in 3 more million, just to say thanks for a job well done.

The reports have pretty consistently been that the team was balking at the incentives. To me, that sounds nuts. What team doesn't want players who are working toward incentives?

We don't. We don't want to send out the wrong message to our players. Don't forget.... we are after that #1 overall pick.

You know it's possible to add multiple quotes to a single post and reply to each of them, right?

I guarantee you Jerry thinks he is omnipotent.

Hopefully you guys have that out of your system and we can talk about Waters again.

I don't think he plays. Contract, out of shape, yada. Not even sure what the line up will be.

did people actually think he was going to play on Sunday....

If he shows he can play in practice, there is no reason for him not to play on Sunday. I doubt if he'll be able to start, but he should be able to contribute with all of those years of experience, if he shows the coaches he is ready to go.

No, if you're referring this this year, that was Brandon Moore.

Waters didn't want to play for the Patriots last year. He wanted them to release him and allow him to play for another team, but they held onto his rights; therefore, he just stayed home.

Waters said all along this year that he was interested in playing for a team in Texas, but only for the right price.

That's right- thanks, I could not quite remember and thought it was Waters.

That is what was being put out there. Is it really true or not we will likely never know. I tell my wife I don't want to do the dishes but I always end up in the kitchen after dinner doing just that.

I stand corrected, that was Brandon Moore and not Waters. Now I really like the Waters deal.
