Watkins at cb?

Even if one accepted that, what exactly does that have to do with the 1981 Cowboys?
They probably had the most INTs in team history. E-dunce believes we should be getting 37 INTs every year, and if we have safeties getting more picks than CBs, hell let's just throw a bunch of safeties out there.

Stanback is a qb..wanna-be wr.

We drafted a DE and we are trying to convert him to an OLB.

Nothing wrong with my logic.
Your 'logic' hasn't been able to supply any semblance of a reply to the link in MY sig for almost five months.

Just saying. :)

Watkins can catch.

Our corners can't.

I thought you were joking.

Do you seriously think Watkin's would make a good CB? That's more than a little ridiculous.

Playing CB isn't about catching, contrary to what you're iron head might fail to realize.

Hines Ward was a QB. So was Drew Pearson. Antwan Randal El. Patrick Crayton. Matt Jones.

DeMarcus Ware was a DE. So was Sean Merriman. Terrell Suggs.

But Hines Ward et al were drafted as WR's, and it worked out pretty well.

And DeMArcus Ware, et al were drafted as OLB's, and it worked out pretty well.

You are talking to a brick wall.

He can catch which = ability to play CB. TO can play play CB, so can Terry Glenn, so can Witten. I saw Crayton make a catch once or twice, he can play CB as well.

watkins at cb sounds like a legit idea, this guy can probably cover better than jones or reeves.. although reeves did have a decent night against the vikings. watkins continues to be a force in coverage though which is what we need. lots of scouts said he would make a great cb coming out of college. im sure our coaching staff is still considering stanback as a possibility as a safety or cb, his speed and agility is just too great to overlook for our depleted secondary.

i wouldnt mind this
cb's: henry watkins
fs: stanback
ss: williams

we'd have height, size, and speed back there.. aaron glenn is slower and smaller than both stanback and watkins, his experience only goes so far. bigger wr's are going to kill us if we let hamlin and glenn man our cb and safety spots.

Yeah..I'm just joking.

Watkins can NOT play CB.......trust me, I've watched him play for 6 years....he's a FS, doesn't have the hips for CB.

I agree Zimmer was a genius at this sort of stuff turning safteys into cb's. Just looked what he did with mario edwards and pete hunter for example.

:lmao2: :lmao:

I have high aspirations for Watkins at FS. He now has a yaer or 2 to learn and watch from Hamlin. He will see field at FS a lot in nickel when we kick Roy into the Box and Hamlin to SS. Thats a formidable scheme - Phillips been holding some cards for Giants.

I don't know about 'lots of scouts', but here are three draft information related sources with analysis of Watkins prior to the '06 draft:

[Excerpted]

Drew Boylhart (The Huddle Report): Pat is a deceivingly athletic safety... Add his speed, burst, ability to cover ground quickly and tackling skills to the mix and you have a recipe for a hell of a free safety at the next level... His coverage skills are good for the college level, but just average for the NFL level...

FOX Sports on MSN: Teams looking for consistency in a free safety are well aware of Watkins' ability...

http://msn.foxsports.com/other/story/5528084?print=true

Rich Gosselin of The Dallas Morning News ranked Watkins as the 9th best safety out of the Top 15 that year.

Maybe you can offer three scouts' opinions or even three draft-related sources opinions which supported Watkins as a cornerback at the NFL level to counter the three sources I've posted, but somehow I doubt it.
