Watkins: Turpins will get a 2nd round tender ($5.3M)

Yes keep Seig and Anger. Lawson and Golston can test the FA market.

Is Turpin worth losing for a 2nd round pick?
Especially if no one expects Dallas to even make the playoffs. Do you want that draft pick.
However, they need to let Osa walk to get the comp pick in this same situation.

Or is $5.34 million a cheap price to pay to keep. Then lose him to a comp pick next year. This is probably the right answer. If they bring in other FA's to actually compete for a playoff spot.
Lawson interests me. But depends on the price

If someone offered a second round pick for him today, I’d be pretty happy. No way someone does that though.

This was a good move.

I could see Andy Reid calling. The kid is the most dynamic ST’s player in football and KC would have him all over on offense
I hope so. While Turpin will make some big plays on special teams, in some games he will be a non-factor. As a wide receiver, he'll never be more than a seldom used 3rd WR, and most likely the 4th to 5th WR. He's just undersized. He'll drop a pass for every big gain he makes too. He's also not young.

A second round pick has the potential to be a solid starter for years to come. An every-down player on the offensive line for example, or a three-down RB that opposing defenses have to account for. Very importantly, that second round pick will also be cheap.

Lol, trade Turpin for Schoonmaker or Jaylon Smith? No thanks…..

I don't see any way a team offers Turpin a big contract and willing to give the 2nd round pick.
Not to mention that for the most part the owners do not even negotiate with restricted free agents. Cannot prove collusion but it does stink.

It's so uncommon that when it happens it becomes news in and of itself.

Judge the FO by what they do in March and so far they not doing a bunch nothing.

Fingers crossed. I Like Turpin but this team needs talent at positions more important than kick returner.

I'd take the 2nd rounder if someone offered. Especially considering he was a UDFA signing.
