I don't think they'd let him play if there was a chance of paralysis. I'd like to see his CT or MR.
Ware is a competitor but he wouldn't risk his life if doctors told him there was a chance of paralysis. He's made tons of money in his career. He's set for life. If he knew one hit would leave him in a wheelchair, he wouldn't be playing.

One of the biggest competitors the NFL has ever seen, Micheal Irvin, retired when told he risked permanent injury if he kept playing. I don't think Ware would either. Just my opinion.
That's my quote in bold not the other attributed to me.

This is my quote not RXP's. Not sure what happened.

Better to retire with 3/4th's a legacy relatively healthy than go all the way and lose functions essential for a normal life later.

I thought that is what I said.
You know- I'm sure you did, but this quote thing from post to post is getting more screwed up as we go and I'm getting lost in the translations.

There are some gremlins playing with the quotes in this thread.

But I'll take credit for all of them. :)

I think they are drunk! They cannot even keep up with a simple forum conversation! What, what....?

They are not a bottom-dwelling team... yet.
You may just have the chance to call them that in the very near future, but why jump the gun when you don't half to?

You are correct. you speak my language.

We are now a truly bottom-feeding/dwelling team.

When we start discussing whether to restructure an aging and injured DE and wring our hands over the Crawfords and Selvies of the world.

There was a time that we gnashed our teeth over far better prospects. but that's us: loyal to players to a fault.

correction: bottom feeding d line
bottom feeding defense

I think he can play the 3 or the 5. I can see him as a 1 if they ask him to shoot or shoot and hold. I don't know enough about him to say he can play 2 gaps.

Marinelli doesnt really use that whole 2 gap philosphy tho. He wants his DTs to get upfield and he brings up MLB to fill. The evidence is what Hollomon did guy had an insane game he played in the middle. So its not just Lee's play, but by design Marinelli puts his MLB in that free gap to make that tackle in the run game.

I'll admit my error in judgement. But I know it's not happening. He came into this season healthy and looked great in the preseason and training camp practices. As the season wore along he started to break down all over his body. If it was just one body part I could understand, but everywhere? Same exact thing will happen next year LM.

What you say is certainly true.
But perhaps we could sign an actual NFL player to play some WDE behind Ware and he might not be asked to save the entire DL for 10 weeks wearing himself to nothing.

It is also a disservice to logic much less Ware to act as if he played poorly versus the Eagles with the playoffs on the line.

Ware was very active in stopping the running game and even quick passing game. He didn't get much pressure by his standards and certainly looked stiff but his overall play was well above most starting WDE.

It was not worth 12.5m which is why the hatred won't quit but if that's the case Sean Lee and most of the roster should be getting insulted with just as much vitriol.
Not sure I understand it.

This team was as desperate for a pass rusher when they finally found Ware as we were were for a QB when they finally found Romo.

Ware is a Ring of Honor member if he never gets another sack and people want to insult him and say he's a bum after 18 sacks the last two seasons.

He did tail off mightily last year with 6 sacks and he is due a "market correction" restructure but he isn't a bum by any means.

Every team plays some 2 gap. You have to on some blitzes even if it's not your basic scheme. I think this guy is really strong and he's had time to get stronger.

I hate being a broken record, but again- The Goods.

Like the movie with Jeremy Piven.
I love that movie...

paying attention is important before trying to make a point

free took a pay cut

ware is WAY overpaid based on his production

cut the salary or cut the player

The entire board wanted him gone regardless and was actively seeking EVERY RT REPLACEMENT.

The board DIDN'T WANT HIM TO STAY.

I hope Ware puts on a clinic and proves all of you doubters wrong.

Once again, hope is not a strategy

Ware should now be paid like a situational pass rusher not as an elites starting de

Wouldn't proclaim Crawford a bust. If Ware returns to form this is a good move, don't think trading him is worthwhile and it's not worth it to move on from him this year. If he doesn't rebound we can revisit cutting him next offseason. Right move.

Great post, and exactly what the team is likely thinking.

Unfortunately, though, per your username, a Ware restructure makes releasing Miles Austin all but a certainty.

Sorry, love Ware, however his time was over two seasons ago. Now he is just hurting this team, but that's all on Jerry Jones.

This isn't the time to "restructure" a contract that never should have been so overly generous to begin with. It'll only exacerbate this team's cap woes further down the line yet once again. It's way past time for a little common sense to prevail with the incessant clinging to over-the-hill and washed up veterans. DeMarcus was great while he lasted but those days are gone. His body has broken down and time has taken its toll. Better to cut bait now.

Luckily we half a high-powered offense that is ranked 16th overall and 24th in rushing. And we half a QB with great personal stats. So It cant be all bad, I agree.
