Wayne TD was on TNew

maybe he blew the coverage assignment but he didnt get "beat" for a TD..

yea he did, biting on a fake is the same as getting beat. Either way you give up the play. It ain't the end of the world guys. At least now TNew should be more prepared for that since it's the second time it happened and it cost him his streak.

Yeah, streak ends, it had to sometime. Oh well, aside from that play, he played great. One long pass to harrison that was impossible, but that's it.

Not bad for a guy who wasn't with us for a while after getting JACKED UP!

Yeah, heard the same thing. TNew would've caught an INT as well, but Roy decided to come in and hit TNew, dislodging the ball. Roy must've been in a hitting mood Sunday cause he smacked Henry in the head pretty good.

Roy ALWAYS hits something hard

I think the bottom line here is that T-New has established himself as one of the premiere DB's in the league.

True.

But it must suck for Newman and Henry to have Keith Davis as your backup. I rewinded that play a thousand times and Keith Davis had deep responsibility on that side and was too far inside to get over and make a play on the ball.

I said same thing happened last year. I didnt say it was Newman last year. Worded the way BP said it actually

I was just clarifying.

The HOF will feature busts of cornerbacks who were beaten by Manning, and one of them might even be Newman's.

Although the TD may be on Newman, its hard for me to say that this ended the streak. he didnt really get beat by wayne...just either had some miscommunication or tried to make a play somewhere else. Im still yet to see a WR beat him 1 on 1 for a TD.

Hey guys, dont know if you remember but during the last plays of the game it was evident and even said by the annoucers that Manning was going for Harrison and Newman played the double move perfectly. That was Simm's quote and Newman locked him down when it was important. The Wayne TD was a fluke and the catch Harrison made, kudos to them for pulling off the perfect play. Remember a perfect throw beats the perfect coverage any day.

I don't care about some dumb streak....he is still one of the two or three best cover corners in football for my money and frankly I wouldn't trade him for the other two anyhow.

It couldn't last forever but if Newman promises to give up a touchdown only once every 18 months then I'll let it slip.

His last TD allowed was in December 2004.

Be prepared for more disappointment in October 2008.
