Just win baby!
Champ teams win those ugly games.
I can't understand why people say this. Great/championship teams win some games like this, and they lose some games like this.Yes teams need to win ugly games like this. Great teams do.
We didn't play well against a mediocre team. If you're so sensitive to people picking at your team's warts through a long season....then I don't know how you follow sports. It'd drive me crazy to be so sensitive to the narrative around my teams. All I heard last night on the post game shows, this message board and social media in general is how bad we looked, which teams we lose to playing like that, teams that scare you in the playoffs, etc. 11-1 and the best team in the NFL and every week is people whining about something with this team. These don't come around here very often at all. We are legit Super Bowl contenders (I think more than we were in 2007 and 2014) but it gets tiring every week having to read how suspect this team is. Yet we just keep finding a way to win the game. I even heard people say we need to bench Dak for Romo and Zeke has fell off. I don't get this fanbase at times.
Football season is just a few months from ending completely. Enjoy the season! We now have a 10 day break to mentally and physically prepare for the last quarter of the season. We are doing just fine up to this point.
Reading around I would think we were 6-5 and scrapping for just a wild card spot like the last 20 years.
If the cowboys lose again, the reaction on this board may break the internet lol. I know last night was not pretty but that Minn defense is special. The boys still found a way to pull it out. Character and team building win in my eyes.
Exactly. Nobody, even me thought 11-1 was in the cards. Yet here we are, staring down possible HFA. Says a lot about this Cowboys' team!We looked bad but we won which says something for the team we have this season. Despite the penalties and turnovers we found a way to win on the road against a desperate team. Not likely to get away with a performance like that in the playoffs but you're going to have to win some ugly games during the regular season because no one plays 16 perfect regular season games. We've had to scratch and claw out a few wins this season and those are the wins that build character and mental toughness that will be needed once the playoffs arrive.
I expect to lose another game this year, I don't even think I want to go into the playoffs on a 15 game winning streak, it really wouldn't be the end of the world.
Seattle has a few every year that are ugly and many they win. The broncos had some last year.Well, we played terribly and won. Seattle played terribly and lost and scored 5 points. Your going to have bad games - can you come out with a win?

Think about it: most championship teams go 12-4, 13-3, occasionally better. What do you think most of those losses look like? They're not blowouts, and they're not all heavyweight bouts with equals. They're mostly ugly close games where they let a lesser team stick around and steal one away.
Great teams aren't great because they win a bunch of games like this. They're great because they destroy lesser teams, like we did the Browns and Bears, because they never get blown out, and because they don't lose more than their share of the inevitable ugly games that come along.
If Thielen didn't fumble and the Vikings eked out a win over us, it wouldn't say anything different about the team: we'd be 10-2 and our path to HFA would be a bit harder, but we wouldn't learn anything about the Cowboys than we learned from the close ugly win.

Good teams win the ugly games
Why not? Patriots took a 18 game winning streak all the way to a Super Bowl. They didn't win the Super Bowl but it was not the reason they lost. I never got this narrative of 'needing to lose' for whatever reason you want to name. This team is not buying into their own hype. They just go out and do their business and move on. If we lose, that's ok. But you never want to lose or see them lose. We saw that 12 times last year. This team knows what it's like to lose games.
And, like Parcells (whom someone referenced last night), Jimmy wouldn't know what an 11 game win streak even looks like. That's not a slam on Jimmy or Parcells but the fact remains they've never achieved what Garrett and team have achieved this year. To be fair, Jimmy and Bill have rings (which Jason and his staff have not achieved yet, either) but, to this point, Jason hasn't had any problems motivating his team or keeping them focused. There's more than one way to skin a cat and Garrett and Co. are doing just fine, right now.Jimmy would have cussed out random players on the flight home and cut a guy just to make a point after a sloppy game like that.
Very trueCan you imagine if our Cowboys lost to Tampa 5-14 or tied 6-6? We would be calling for everyone's head.
Oh dude, when this team loses again, I'm probably going to give it a few days cooling off before I touch it again. If the cowboys lose again, the reaction on this board may break the internet lol. good post , also we were tired. This was a game we just wanted to escape from and we did so with a win. Tough situation playing away in front of a tough crowd on a Thursday, against a good defense who were playing for their season and their coach and we still came out with a victory. I think most teams lose a game in that situation. It wasn't pretty, but I don't think this game was indicative of how we're going to play for the rest of the season.
Now, if we go into New York on 10 days rest and the defense gives up plays with no pressure on Eli, we're committing a bunch of penalties and the offense doesn't look like it usually does, then I think there might be trouble and we might have gotten figured out.
Well people and fans have gotten used to losing, getting close, but failing, and used to complaining about the cowboys. All I heard last night on the post game shows, this message board and social media in general is how bad we looked, which teams we lose to playing like that, teams that scare you in the playoffs, etc. 11-1 and the best team in the NFL and every week is people whining about something with this team.
