That's not the issue. The issue is you don't have to be a high draft pick to succeed in this league. Kurt Warner was an undrafted free agent as well.

Romo is a 'mobile' QB, and they don't fare well against strong offensive fronts. The giants killed him and the Foreskins will be bringing the heat as well.

The product of a system is a non-issue as well. You keep coming up with reasons why these undrafted and late drafted QBs shouldn't be credited for their success, when all I'm saying is you don't HAVE to be a highly drafted QB to have success. You can't argue that.

And newsflash... the Carolina defensive line may be the best we'll face all season, and they have decent LBs, probably as good as Washington's. Romo, the mobile QB, had little difficulty with them. Romo was clearly fighting the jitters against NYG, and early in the Carolina game. Hardly enough to prove that mobile QBs as you say, "have problems with strong defensive fronts."

For the position of Quarterback on America's Team, nothing less should be asked of him. I don't care who the guy is. You either handle the pressure of that glorified job or you don't. No exceptions. We as Cowboy Fans have seemingly grown weak in our past decade of dismay. Forgetting who and what we are.

Well I'm not saying he has to be perfect or even anything close in the beginning. Though just like Aikman did for us, we need to know he's going to be our guy from day 1. He has to show us he can handle it and make all the fans believe in him. He doesn't have to be perfect. Aikman was anything but perfect those first couple of years, but we knew he was our guy without reservation.

And someone above brought up the example of Tom Brady.. Same exact concept. Wasn't perfect that first year, but you knew he had all the smarts and all the tools from the second he stepped out on that field and took control. There was just no looking back at that point.

Some people are just born leaders. That's what we need. Aikman and Brady are both great examples of instant "Field Generals" with players ready to go to battle with them. That's what we need to know we have. That's the standard I hold Romo up to. Be someone who can take us to war!

And though I never saw Roger play in person, he's still another example of the platinum standard we need to hold our most imporatant position to. 4 years we waited for him. Because we knew!

I understand the basis of what you are saying ... and it's true we are asking alot out of Romo. You always ask alot out of that position when you have high hopes for your ballclub.

But keep this in mind. Bledsoe was the proverbial governor for this football team. We were always going to be confined to a certain level of mediocrity as long as he was entenched as our QB. Romo is the equivalent of stripping off that governor and "seeing what she'll do". There is alot of talent on this team that have to feel like the shackles were removed with the QB move and now it is their pportunity to shine.

When you look at it from that standpoint you can see that there really is alot of pressure on these perceived playmakers to now become what everyone says they are. There are no more excuses for underachievement from anyone. Their built in excuse was Bledsoe and now everyone has to be accountable ... and that's a good thing.

I hear ya.... I want the same thing... I have come to expect alot from Romo in just a short period. but if he doesnt play real well in all games in beginning of his career.. I will understand... lets just get on track and bust that arse

I can remember, even when Aikman was a 7 yr vet and more, him coming out with his 1st 5 to 8 throws high and away-----had jitters, butterflys, a little adrenalin etc............ thats is sports

JJ tried to get him some easy throws early to get him going, but teams seemed to catch on to that stratagy and sat on it..........

heres to hoping BP lets Romo go deep 1st series, go for the jugular, set the tone.........lets see some of Jimmy Johnson playcalling----let them see the wrong end of a barrel
