Funny - this years team couldn't run either.

Oline is priority if we want to do either. Parcells was once quoted why he threw it so much in that era with Pats? His reply was because I had Drew Bledsoe. Those Pat teams also had terrible D's and they needed to score a lot of points to be in games.

Payton is going in for his second interview with the New Orleans Saints. I guess we couldn't keep him forever. This is a big loss. Parcells will bring in some bozo to run this offense or he will call the plays himself.

He should've taken the Oakland job when he had the chance. Why would you want to coach for a team w/out a home and with a tool for an owner?

That was a really bad football team and why at 1-15 they had #1 overall pick......

Hopefully Flo gets back to form fast.
The Tucker/Petitti era stalled.

I'm just saying at least they could throw the ball with a 7 time Pro Bowler at LT vs El Gato The Human Turnstyle at LT.

3 time loser at RT moved to starting LT?

Brilliant!!!

I wish him well if he does get the job. He might be better off if he ever wants to suceeed using his own system.

I think he is one of the best young coachs in the league and is a future head coach that will be around the league awhile. There is nothing in the college ranks right now. No one is interviewing the college guys. Payton is going to be a good one if he is given a chance. I just wish he would stick around till Bill leaves and then take over for the Boys. These years under Parcells are big for any assistant coach.

I could be wrong, but I'm guessing BP will promote one of his assistant coaches and the new hiree will be a lower tier assistant rather than a new OC from outside unless, of course. one of BP's old beer drinking buddies needs a paying job or something.

Curious about Bledsoe's NFL records...
He holds the single season record for pass attempts (691 in 1994). A dubious distinction at best.
He is third (second at the time he set it) in single season completions (400 in 1994).
He is thirteenth (seventh at the time he set it) in single season passing yards (4555 in 1994).
Each of these stats are single season records for the Patriots.
He is tied (Tom Brady, Steve Grogan) for single season TD's (28) with the Patriots behind Babe Parilli (31) of the 1964 Boston Patriots.
He probably holds some career records with the Patriots, but Brady will soon surpass those.
It's a fairly unimpressive resume.
