We are missing Barber's "Emotional Lift"

IMO I think when Felix gets healthy we need to put him back at #2. Before everyone freaks out....listen.

Last year he was our "emotional lift" that came off the bench and inspired everybody....you remember....the fans, the team, the O line. To me this year...we've lost that "emotinal lift" that he brought off the bench. Will that help us win more games? I don't know....but I can tell you, that our offense hasn't been the same since.

Have you also noticed that he doesn't always run with the reckless abandonment that he ran with last year....I know he's the starter now, but he goes out of bounds all the time.....and he also doesn't do his high knee dance after a big run. (most likely to conserve energy) We need that back!

Believe me...I love Barber.....I just think it can't hurt. Irvin has been saying Felix should start all year.

I'm not naive enough to think that we have more problems then this....but we have been missing that.

Everybody know's Wade sucks....and yes we need a healthy guys on the field. I'm just trying to come up with solutions.

Barber is missing an offensive line pushing and blowing up holes.

The way we've been run blocking, it's difficult for Barber to give that emotional lift. He has still made some great runs for us. Look at the 70 yard catch and run last week. The difference is this team is not motivated by anything. That opening drive to score today should have made everybody on offense rally around Brad and make something happen. So much for that. Granted, the D and ST were awful, but the offense should have been on for 4 quarters after that opening drive. I don't have the answers. As a fan, it is such a hopeless feeling.

I think part of the problem is that we're a pass-first team, but ever since the game in which Garrett forgot to run the ball, we see a lot more predictable run plays early in the game that net very few yards.

We're not a run-first team. We're a pass-first team to build a lead, and then a run-minded team to put the game away.

I see what you're saying. This change would still lead to positive results. But there is one problem that i think is a lot bigger than this.

The offensive gameplan is flawed. I used to love the fact that Garrett loved to throw on first down. It was different from Parcells' methodical running on first down and led to big plays. When we are completing passes on first down consistently, this offense is explosive. But teams are always defending the throw on first down now.

Start running on first downs. Stick with it. Then teams will start playing the run on first down again. Garrett never changes the pattern up.

Whether it's Barber or Jones, we need to adjust the gameplan. How can we be this predictable to other teams?

Totally disagree. Barber is the ONLY constant in our offense. He is the only one, IMO who absolutely "brings it" on every play of every week. The other thing to consider is that we are a pass happy offense, and our pass protection absolutely stinks. Can Felix pick up pass blocking the way Barber can? Our QB's get hit enough already, why add some more?

Agreed. I'm not really concerned with the offense. Their problems are sloppiness, both with turnovers and penalties, and perhaps poor playcalling. But generally, when Romo's out there, they end up scoring a decent share of points. And the problems that are there seems correctable.

I'm concerned the defense's problems are far, far less correctable.

It's hard to be amped up when you fumble the ball.He needs to start making sure the ball is secure while he's trying to run over people.
