How about Romo?

Well just six more games and he'll be back. Go into the bye at 3-2 and go 2-2 after and we'll be fine. There are some very winnable games on the schedule. New Orleans, Tampa Bay, NYG, Philadelphia.

Unfortunately, the league doesn't award any prizes for being in first place after the 3rd game of the season. On the bright side, it could be worse, considering how fortunate we were to beat N.Y. within the last minute. Nevertheless, we're hanging on by our fingernails at this point. Perhaps with a little luck, we'll manage a "W" versus New Orleans but it won't get any easier from there on out with us being in the Patriots' sights after that. Getting some defensive troops back with RoMac and Hardy returning for that one might make a real difference, though. Hopefully, we'll be able to remain reasonably competitive until such time as all of our walking wounded return to action.

We're 3 games in, 1st place is meaningless right now until Romo gets back.

Not really. We could be in last place without romo and dez if not for romo amazing comeback and Sean lee interception.

1st place now is what gives us hope to still be in contention when romo comes back

I was actually pretty hopeful and optimistic coming in to today. I figured today would be a tough but ugly win. Figured we grind one out against N.O. next week. Thought maybe 2 out of the next 5 after that. And be sitting pretty when Romo came back.
All of the air went out of that balloon in 30 minutes of football. Reality,as it tends to do,***** slapped the sense back in to me. Just to tough to win in the NFL with this many players out.

Some realistic posts in here. It's better than the insane threads that we could be 8-0 with Romo out. We have 2 very winnable games, 2 definite losses, and 2-3 games that could go either way while Romo is out. We also play in a bad division. We also should have a healthier O-line and a defense at full strength.

Cassel is not much better if at all than Weeden. You people expect miracles with these backup QBs. Weeden wasn't the problem today.

Just beat our divisional opponents along with NO and TB and we're sitting at 6-3. It's doable. NY will be close and our defense has Philly pegged. NO won't amount to much with no Brees and Tampa may already be thinking '16 when we meet with ATL and CAR looking to runaway with the south. Our challenging games will be NE and SEA. NE is NE and will have a bye prior to our game. Seattle can move the pocket on defense and this will pose a big task for Weeden.

Overall, it's tough to see a glimmer of hope for most after a loss. I have no doubt we bounce back vs NO who won't have Graham or Brees (likely out).

Dallas is up a game in the division and is going up against a winless Saints team likely without Drew Brees. I'd say we're stilt in a good position. Dez should be back after the Giants game and Gregory, Hardy, McClain, and Mincey will all be back as well.

And we had more than enough DL line depth today even though we lost significant defensive linemen this week? How did that play out?

The game against the Saints even without Brees isn't a gimme. The backup almost led them to a victory against the Panthers if not for a last second interception. I look for another game that could really go either way.

I feel confident we can still win the division or at least stay in the race for that, the bigger problem will be in the playoffs we will have to travel at some point.

I'll take my chances with a healthy Romo and Dez.

It better. This defense has held us back for years and stunted Romo's career. They blew it again today. For once I'd like to see them carry the team for a few weeks

Actually OL has been a big problem as well. Both are really good the problem is your missing tons of talent on defense because of injuries.

Missing players. .....
Hardy, Scandrick, Ro, Gregory, Mincey, T. McClain, Dez, Romo and Witten is playing through injuries

Also Lee, Church and Crawford went out in spots during the game

Hard to overcome by because of depth we are 2-1. Get through this Saints game and our defense should be full strength minus Scandrick
