An average .500 team, One quarter of the way into the season.
While the losses to KC and SD have been disappointing ,
the larger point is we seem to be the same .500 team we were last year.
That's what hurts.
With all the coaching changes on defense,
and a new play caller, we still can't seem to escape mediocrity.
I don't think we the fans nor the coaches have a clue on how to break this cycle.
I know this, once Romo's career is over we are looking at some 4 and 12 , 5 and 11 seasons.
We are wasting his prime years, treading water.

Not only are Romo's prime years being wasted, look at the careers Jason Witten and DeMarcus Ware have had. That all three could end up never winning a title is a travesty. Then I look at that mess in New York and realize that chump Eli Manning has two rings. Makes me sick.

Patching this team up every year won't work. Didn't work in the Aikman era, won't work now. And all we do is patch things up every year. We need a new infrastructure. Listen, when things don't work 18 years later, change the whole thing. And by the way, 4-11 is better than 8-8, better draft position.

The main core i wanted to win it all might lose someone next year. I dont know if ware plays next year! Your body can only take so much and hes been declining little by little. I hate to say it...but Romo's prime is likely already behind him. He is not the same nimble, elusive guy throwing darts around the field. And I suspect it's not just his ribs. I argued strongly against his pricey extension for this very reason: Unless the guy is Peyton Manning...age is no respecter of NFL athletes.

Sure hope I'm wrong and the more capable Romo emerges.

I agree, when your really bad, you can get good draft picks, the worse thing is to be in the middle year after year.
No playoffs and no prime draft picks...

Oh so because he is in the HOF it isn't a played out saying? Please ok who said should woulda coulda? This team just isn't that good and has no urgency and no tempo and it does not take advantage of match ups or dictates anything at all. Sorry that's the truth. Not your record is what you say you are. What were the giants at 9-7? That's right SB winners. Sorry this saying is played out.
