We could easily get Eric Berry people.

Our first and Martellus Bennett to the Browns for their first round pick pick.

They need offensive talent and let's face it,MartyB is a luxury and we have gaping holes on our team. I understand the running game blahblahblah. Iupati will fix that.;)

:worthy2:

Would you guys do this trade?

No.

The main reason I say no is that I don't know where the Browns or Dallas will be drafting at this point.

lol the Browns will be top 5....

Dallas..ehh..anywhere from 12-32. Seriously. This team is that complex.

I knew youd be trading Marty when I saw this.

If it were #20, and Marty plus lets say a 4th for Eric Berry sign me up.

There are a lot of teams that suck this year, so there is no guarantee that the Browns will finish bottom 5. I think right now they would have the 6th pick and you have the Commanders and Raiders doing all they can to overtake them to get to the bottom.

Hey, they make some sense too. Both have safeties and could use a blocking TE.

You cant stop us from pretend getting Berry

lol your really arguing over one spot?

Okay the Browns have the 6th pick and we have the 18th.

No, I was never arguing. Just asking the question. By the end of the year that 6th spot could end up being the 9th spot. There are just so many bad teams this season. Incredibly bad teams.

True. But this isn't about draft positioning.

Just hypothetical;)

The Browns WILL have a super high pick though. Not sure if they'll win one more game.

It would have to be a situation where we knew we are getting Berry for sure, meaning the Browns are on the clock and Berry is available.

I'd hate to pull off this trade before hand only to have some team leap frog us and take Berry. We tried to trade up back in 1997 and Kansas City went (much) higher and took Tony Gonzales.

Right now, the worst teams are:

Tennessee 0-6 probably will be looking for a franchise QB.
Tampa Bay 0-6 new Vols coordinator Monte Kiffen stll has friends in the Buc organization. He has already said Berry is the best defensive player he has ever coached.
St.Louis 0-6 probably will be looking for a franchise QB.
Detroit 1-5 happy with Louis Delmas aka Mrs. Slate :D but still need another Safety.
Cleveland 1-5 needs better Safety play but Mangini likes veterans.
Kansas City 1-5 Mike Brown and Jon McGraw are starters? Yikes, makes me appreciate Ken Hamlin...almost. GM Scott Pioli may be looking to trade down and get more picks for rebuilding Chiefs.

Ya there's so many variables. This is assuming he is still on the board when the Browns are on the clock to assure getting him.

Nice assesment on those teams needs. Mays is pretty much a lock for the Raiders. Tampa is the only team that I could see swooping because of that Monte connection.

If we are moving into the top 5, which I WOULD do for Marty B and our first...I would NOT take Berry..

i'd do it in a heartbeat

ERIC BERRY 4 LIFE!

who would you take?

Outside of Ndamukong Suh, Eric Berry, and possibly some QB's, I don't know who else would be a lock Top 5 pick.

I don't know about that anymore. With the resurgence of Michael Huff and their recent 2nd round investment in Michael Mitchell, I think they may go in another direction. They may be ready to pull the plug of the JaMarcus Russell experiment and draft a QB. Which is good because we could sign Russell on the cheap to replace Flozell Adams.

True.

If they're smart, they'll go with Suh or Okung. Which means they won't.

I can't believe no one has said they'd trade into the Top 5 and take Gerald McCoy and then move Ratliff to DE where "he belongs". On the other hand, McCoy wouldn't be that bad to have in the middle either. IMO, Bennett is expendable because I can't see Witten playing anywhere but here, and how much closer to a championship are you because you have an above average back-up TE...
