When Dak was making pennies in his rookie deal, or when they made his cap hit for the year look like a steal to help our cap, we STILL chose not to be active in Free Agency. Please give your thoughts, we blame Dak for a lot, in this situation, the blame goes on 2 people not 1!

we knew this day was coming. like you said, we had 4 years on his rookie deal and couldn't build a team. his first three years on new contract was 17, 19, 26M. SF build a strong team around Purdy who showed he can win when resources are there, but couldn't carry the team. same with Hurts. the big question is have we had a strong team? some areas yes. some areas not. I am still disappointed in the performance against GB. lack luster. not interested. not prepared. not ready. panicked. just plain sucked up and down the team and coaches.

I think the entitlement culture kind of took over, and they assumed we show up, we are at home and the other team rolls over or we find a way to win because we can just turn it on. the game plan sucked. defense was caught flat footed. they attacked our smallish LBs (safties) and we played zone, and had played man all year. the offense got shell shocked. CD was pouting in the most freaking important game of the year. Dak was off. the team just was not ready. and we could never recover. every one sucked.

GM Jethro is sticking to his new philosophy.

1. Build through the draft
2. Be frugal in free agency
3. Collect comp picks
4. Bargain shop in free agency after the draft.
5. Trade next year picks for vets, that could acquire more comp picks the following year.
