We can't run the ball, or we're choosing not to run the ball?

I guess it's both obviously! Bad predictable scheme, poor blocking, bad runners, and no game plan that says we're going to establish the run and stay with it. We want to take some pressure off Dak and actually help him to make the game plan more balanced. Sure it sounds good in the off season where they lie and say they want to run more, but as we can see there's no real plan.

Please give your thoughts, is it both, or just one of the issues!???

No schemes, OL weak and injured. It’s really not a RB problem. This team has better games when Dak is running the ball instead of taking sacks or throwing the ball away. Need a run threat.

Some would argue we don't have an NFL capable running back on this team
It is possible but there are no holes and we often ate getting tackled second after hand off in backfield. RB is never getting a chance.

Rico has been getting over 4ypc for a month or so now. I dont know how much of that is after we are up against an insurmountable lead and the defense is playing soft. I do know Zeke has pretty much been a waste of a carry. I'd like to see them run Rico until he needs a break instead of the arbitrary way they appear to be rotating the rbs.

We havent had much patience with the run game though, and that's probably because it doesn't take long before we are down multiple scores.

I don’t think they know how to hit a hole.

Maybe Rico needs to have a meeting

It's pretty widely accepted that our stable of running backs is extremely weak.
Also true that the OL, with 2 rookies, is not exactly creating nice holes to run through.

The passing game also shares the blame. Imagine if opposing defenses actually feared a downfield passing attack from Dallas. Just as a good running game can open up things for the passing attack, the opposite is also true.

Lamb is about the only real threat on this offense. Take him out of the game and there's not much else to worry about.

Both, and it needs to stop.

A team can still run the ball despite a low average. In fact, they must, just to keep the defense honest.

If an offense has the reputation of being a poor running team in addition to playing each game with limited running plays, then there is nothing stopping a D-line from assuming a passing play. They will be correct 70% of the time.

That's when they pin their ears back and target little else but the QB. Even if they guess wrong, which won't be often, they get little punishment from the poor running attack.

Also, the offense could actually get lucky and break off a big one. It's not a consistent approach but there have been many RB 100 yards games that were helped by one carry going 50+ yards.

Of course, being behind most games by two scores is also a factor.

Those are desperate situations they shouldn't get themselves into.

Yeah it's definitely harder to commit to it when your defense also sucks.
