Maybe, Mr.Rivers wasn't asked to do too much last year, not that he isn't good, certainly I don't think he is Heath Shuler. Turner couldn't save ol' Heath, Rivers will probably be a decent QB for many years to come but man o' man will he ever be Drew Brees? Chargers fans will have to wait and see.

I think Norv has a pretty good situation in SD, he has the league best RB as well as one of the better TE in the league and of course SD has some very good defensive players. No reason to think Norv will not do a good job with SD. For Dallas Wade walks into a very good situation that has very good talent to work with both offense and defense.

As far as Jerruh, he has been doing this for about 19 years now. He hs shown quite a bit of growth in my opinion. The ol' Jerruh would have grabbed Brady Quinn and caused all kinds of conflict about who should be starting QB. The new Jerruh turned that into a real bonus. He is more patient and has learned to let his coaches coach.

After all this time, experience has taught him some hard lessons. I think he has learned and the Wade Phillips pick was an example.

I was not in any way taking this preseason and drawing an conclusion about either coaching staff and their success to this point. I was, however, seeing a direction I thought Jerry was going and his thought proccess. If he could hire Wade the "D" would be covered. the connection to Norv was the system that Garrett played in and the return to it years later with a smarter younger addition. That is the small reach, but if it pays off. Jerry got his "D" coach and pardon the reach here. A young Norv. You may throw **** now!
