Until we didn’t.Defense held that SF offense to 6 points up until that point. SF was rolling through everyone before that game.

I know I keep mentioning the Jimmie Ward quote from the 49ers defeat from over a year ago, but, it needs repeating.
Pollard's injury=Zeke up = 49 no respect for our running game= sit back in coverage and .........
“We went in there and did what we needed to do: Stop the run and force them to be one-dimensional. See if Prescott could win the game for them,” - Jimmie Ward (January 2022)
Problems WILL happen in playoffs when you play the best teams, it means certain team leaders (as the QB touches the ball each snap that includes him) HAVE TO step up.
I am prepared to give Dak a chance (KM may well have been a contributory factor), but if he cant STEP UP in 2024, it's about time that we conceded that its highly unlikely that he will improve.....spend the draft capital on the good QB Class and improve the protection/weapons for the rookie out of the CAP saving.
The entire NFL knows our secret.....See if Prescott could win the game for them,”
This is when you know you have a real franchise QB. When they desperately try to shift the blame. He wasn't the only bed crapper that day.
Yep, and that's the reason Mike has mentioned the run game, he's aware that without it (especially in KM's Air Coryell scheme) we're toast. The entire NFL knows our secret.....
But but he beat Rip Van Brady and the 8-9 Bucs he can't win all the big gamesThis is when you know you have a real franchise QB. When they desperately try to shift the blame.
Worst player on the field in the elimination game the last two years.
Just add that to the list of reasons I am against bringing him back.I was really disappointed in Zeke after Pollard went down. Here was a prime opportunity for him to redeem himself. Great players play big in big games and he gave us 16 yards on 6 carries in the 2nd half of that game.
Zeke's largest gain in that game was 5 yards. In two playoff games against the 49ers, Zeke gave us 22 carries for 57 yards along with 3 receptions for 7 yards. Total!
Ouch.“We went in there and did what we needed to do: Stop the run and force them to be one-dimensional. See if Prescott could win the game for them,” - Jimmie Ward (January 2022)
....I mean your coach comes out publicly and states you are a 160 million bus driver and is focusing on the run game and Prescott shuts up like a quite little turd who knows he's blessed to even have the job!!!Yep, and that's the reason Mike has mentioned the run game, he's aware that without it (especially in KM's Air Coryell scheme) we're toast.
I'm not sure Dallas had them on the ropes because Shanahan is great at making halftime adjustments. The game was playing out exactly like they wanted it too.NFL Network is airing the 2022 Confernce game right now.
Man we had them until Pollard got injured. Dirty tackle also. Can't believe a bigger deal wasn't made out of that by the league.

When you hold a team to 23 and 19 points in 2 games and still lose well someone should be looking at the QB?I'm not sure Dallas had them on the ropes because Shanahan is great at making halftime adjustments. The game was playing out exactly like they wanted it too.
Keep it close and pull away at the end. They made that one little adjustment and started to feed Kittle over the middle and Dallas had no answer. They could of a scored at least one more TD if needed. Dak was just shell shocked and terrible. People say nobody was open. Well that's called sticky coverage and to loosen it up you have to hit those WRs in stride, not a bunch of curl routes. You have to throw the WRs open. Dak didn't even know where to go or what to do with that coverage.
Mike Martz begs to differ. What about our “franchise player” crapping the bed?
Mike Martz begs to differ. All the analysis you need.49ers QB 200 yds no turnovers
Cowboys QB 200 yds 2 turnovers
All the analysis you need.
Moving on to the next big game.
Mike Martz completely disagrees.What happened?
Dak happened.
There were a lot of issues in that 49ers game. But Dak absolutely has to be way more efficient and consistent in these moments. It was like we had two different QBs in the playoffs - the one who fried Tampa and the one who scuffled against the 49ers.I know I keep mentioning the Jimmie Ward quote from the 49ers defeat from over a year ago, but, it needs repeating.

There was a running play in the 2nd half that should have been 30+ yards, but Zeke only squeezed out 3-4 . I think the game was either tied or we were down one score. At this moment, I knew we were done.Zeke certainly didn't put the team on his shoulders after Pollard went down. That's for sure.
Totally agree, that it wasn't all Dak. Moore had to go when he's failed to scheme against a team in two consecutive years when they openly boast what they're trying to do (not going to mention Jimmie Ward's quote -Jan 2022).There were a lot of issues in that 49ers game. I am generally curious to see how all the offensive changes shake out - new play caller, new OL coach, Cooks, no more Elliott, etc.
