There were a lot of issues in that 49ers game. But Dak absolutely has to be way more efficient and consistent in these moments. It was like we had two different QBs in the playoffs - the one who fried Tampa and the one who scuffled against the 49ers.
Different player night and day.....I'm still struggling to understand why. If had played just half as well against the 49ers, we win that game.

Cough, cough....49ers (as per Jimmie Ward, told us a year ago), it's about 4 o-line stopping the run and sitting in coverage.

The miracle play by Kittle, the dropped int by Diggs, and the two back to back defensive penalties were huge as well.
Those unfortunate penalties happened at just the wrong time for us and and helped keep their touchdown drive alive.

Yep, it certainly was the issue in Jan 2022...that helped the 9ers Defense sit back knowing we weren't going to run. 2023 - Pollard down, Zeke not seen as a threat and Dak couldn't step up.

We had them beat on the road if Pollard doesn't go down we win by 6. If Pollard doesn't go down, If Dak doesn't throw the two picks and if our FG kicker wasn't shanking kicks, we blow them out on the road 24-10. They were beat in the trenches, I know it's hard for many to accept but they were until about 10 min left in the 4th.

McCaffery finally got a first down and they grinded us down. Our defense got tired.

Not quite 'had them beat in the trenches', didn't they take 9 mins off the block as we couldn't stop the run...but the rest are valid points

NFL Network is airing the 2022 Confernce game right now.

Man we had them until Pollard got injured. Dirty tackle also. Can't believe a bigger deal wasn't made out of that by the league.

Defense held that SF offense to 6 points up until that point. SF was rolling through everyone before that game.

We had them.......
It's the 49ers, against Dallas. You really can't be surprised nothing was mentioned.

I was really disappointed in Zeke after Pollard went down. Here was a prime opportunity for him to redeem himself. Great players play big in big games and he gave us 16 yards on 6 carries in the 2nd half of that game.

Zeke's largest gain in that game was 5 yards.

In two playoff games against the 49ers, Zeke gave us 22 carries for 57 yards along with 3 receptions for 7 yards. Total!

That is not playing big.

It was a different time but just as a comparison, in his first two playoff games against the 49ers Emmitt gave us 47 carries for 202 yards and 2 TD's along with 14 receptions for 144 yards and 2 TD's.

That is playing big.
Tony wasn't doing that great himself. He had one more yard per carry than zeke.

I also agree zeke didn't step up. But not sure it's all on zeke either...o-line blocking? No threat from Dak?. And that last play of the game was insulting....a final stamp of how dallas mis-used, over-used and abused Zeke untilt here wasn't anything left.

Mike Martz completely disagrees.
Will you embrace Dak's eventual replacement with the same stubbornness when the time comes? Or will you follow him to his next team should he be fortunate enough to sign anywhere else?

I don't know why they had to give the ball to Zeke. He was so ineffective in this game as were the other games he played.

I know I keep mentioning the Jimmie Ward quote from the 49ers defeat from over a year ago, but, it needs repeating.
Pollard's injury=Zeke up = 49 no respect for our running game= sit back in coverage and .........

We went in there and did what we needed to do: Stop the run and force them to be one-dimensional. See if Prescott could win the game for them,” - Jimmie Ward (January 2022)

Problems WILL happen in playoffs when you play the best teams, it means certain team leaders (as the QB touches the ball each snap that includes him) HAVE TO step up.

I am prepared to give Dak a chance (KM may well have been a contributory factor), but if he cant STEP UP in 2024, it's about time that we conceded that its highly unlikely that he will improve.....spend the draft capital on the good QB Class and improve the protection/weapons for the rookie out of the CAP saving.
This quote is dumb because Dallas consistently tried to force the run.

The coaching staff gives Dak - really the whole passing game - no chance because they refuse to consistently throw on first down.

Why didn't you follow Romo into retirement? STHU

Be disappointed in the OL, ES22 had the OL perform well, their identity was being physical.. TP was at 3.8 not doing much either( 3.8 ypc last 6 games, 0 tds, 51 YPG and 2 injuries.. thats Polards finish to the season) man i am so disappointed in mr.flash, Mr big play mr.speed, do nothing the last 6 games...

please stop go look at the Lines in those losses, Issue #1= no run game . line being stood up and not blocking or opening holes, committing penalties. Last 3 playoff losses 50% on the OL alone.. facts Rbs or qbs for that matter cannot function when an OL isnt doing their part. Those big physical DL/Front 7 defenses expose or OL. pollard 2 games against Washington 2 YPC, game 1 TB 1.8 YPC, wow not sure why he was resigned, so disappointing add in his por pass blocking.. shocking. maybe its the OL hmmm
