Yes we’re seriously doing this. You’re talking about a team that for whatever reason you’re enamored with, you look at that Super Bowl win, and talk about how they have dwarfed us, smh, 30yrs? Well 50yrs before the eagles got that one and it’s counting down to another 50 before they get another one. Stop just stop it, the eagles are not doing anything more than any other team through out the history of the NFL.
Enamoured w/? You don't believe in studying models of success? That's weird, dude.

The dude literally is bringing up 50 years ago. When the team was ran by people who are no longer even alive.

Hate them all you want but Philly and Roseman have run laps around Jerry for years now. Roseman doesn't get everything right (the Huff contract this offseason is looking like a turd, and he's had some bad drafts too) but he gets more than enough right and is quick to note an error and change course.

This offseason was a tale in competency for one franchise and idiocy for another franchise. Both teams bowed out early in the playoffs where each team got run off the field. The moment the offseason started, one team took an honest, realistic look at where they were and were aggressive in trying to fix it, the other team was passive and overvalued what they thought they had.

Both Roseman and Jerry are egomaniacs but one is far more critical of the job he has done than the other. One is quicker to understand the limitations of their roster than the other. One is quicker to admit mistakes than the other because he doesn't give a crap what people think about him, whereas the other is consumed with how people view him as a "football" guy.

We can debate whether Dak was a smart resigning. But if Roseman had made the decision to re-sign him, he would have aggressively gotten it done in March or April for cap relief. Devonta Smith and AJ Brown both signed extensions in April, to give them cap flexibility. We signed Lamb weeks before the season.

Philly actually had a fairly decent run game last year. Roseman decided it wasn't good enough and went out and signed one of the best FA RBs. Jerry? Our run game was suspect last year even with Pollard and Jerry's response? Go small at TB. One GM simply said what we have is not good enough, the other GM stupidly thought the opposite.

One GM doesn't allow the cap to constrain him. He works it like no other GM. The other GM uses the cap as an excuse. Always whining about how cap handcuffs him. One isn't afraid to stretch that cap out, the other either has no desire to in order to get better or is too stupid to figure it out.

This franchise is going nowhere with Jerry at the helm. It would take a smart GM like Roseman to try to fix what Jerry has created. And there is no way Jerry is going to give up that kind of control. His ego won't allow it. So his fanbase suffers while Jerry continues on in his nearly three decade long vanity project.
I say it all the time - Jerry is too busy with stadium leases and radio shows while Roseman scouts tight ends at Drexel.

An NFL GM is a full time all in proposition. Jerry doesn’t want the grind he wants the spotlight.

and is quick to note an error and change course.
This x 1,000,000,000

When Roseman screws something up he quickly goes about fixing or minimizing the error

Jerry, meanwhile, doubles and triples down on mistakes, stubbornly trying to prove to everyone that he was right all along

That's how they quickly rebounded from the Wentz mistake.

Meanwhile we're in a broken marriage with Dak under penalty of a $240 million prenup. And Jerry has zero desire to do anything different

I hate the Eagles but I'm more envious of them than anything

They have hope. We have Jerry

There's some really strange dudes in this thread, not even smart enough to comprehend what it's about.

Yeah. The difference is stark.

Plus, Jerry doesn’t care about winning when it comes to making a buck and he will always go cheap, especially with his even cheaper son holding so much clout in the front office. Philly wants titles. Jerry wants Forbes. As long as Forbes keeps listing Dallas, and by extension himself, as the most valuable sports team in the world, he doesn’t give two hairs off a rat’s arse about SBs.
The only trophy Jerry treasures is his hair piece which looks like a bleached heifer patty.

One thing I will give credit to Howie and other GMs of teams who have reached a conference championship game or Super Bowl recently. Is that they aren't content with just saying their team made a deep playoff run. And are consistently striving to get aggressive and active in giving their team the best chance to win a Super Bowl.

Compared to Jerry who will never commit to major change for the betterment of the future of the Cowboys franchise. As having to commit to change would be him admitting that he has taken the wrong route to running this team over the last 30 years and is too egoistical to do that. Even the Chiefs GM doesn't decide to just be content with his team winning 3 recent Super Bowls and goes out to still improve his team each season.

Where as Jerry defends the Cowboys continued postseason failures, by pointing out how many games the Cowboys won in combined regular seasons. And using those regular season wins as proof that he has done a "great job" at building and running the Cowboys. Jerry is so predictable to the point where it would be just like him to pat himself on the back if the Cowboys manage to win a couple of games at the end of this season with Cooper Rush. And even if the Cowboys were to still miss the 2024 playoffs, Jerry would be taking any mini winning streak the Cowboys pull off with Rush and would be telling the media and fanbase how it is still evidence of him doing a fine job at the GM. And that he doesn't need to make any major changes because he would just credit himself for picking Cooper Rush and the other back ups would won a couple of games at the end of this season.

Don't see anyone loving the Eagles.
The homer crowd struggles with the concept of reality and just being able to admit that someone, even a rival, just does it better than we do. I don't love the Eagles. But I am also not a simpleton and can readily admit they are better run than we are and Roseman pretty much runs circles around Jerry/Stephen at this point.

I've read where Brandon Graham is out for the season with the birds after last Sunday's game with LA.

Seems they are already in the works going out finding people, I believe signed two people and looking for a 3rd. Not saying who they find will work out they way they hope, BUT they are already looking and it seems they actually try when they know they have to fill a gap.

The difference between a real GM and one that thinks he’s one and can’t be fired. What you see is on the field is the final product. One goes out and gets a back that can make a difference and the other that brings in the same back he drafted in 2016 that was finally washed up in 2018 to save money (saying we could not afford DH).The other trades for a big receiver during the season and the other that waits till right before the season to sign his main receiver with no practices before the start along with the QB, whom he should have waited him out and made he play thru the season before handing capping the team financially. There is a big difference between these GM’s and now you are seeing it play out live now. One that makes the team better because he knows he has to and the other that does nothing during FA because he will not lose his job.
