We have a new team, hard to predict

Im worried that our coaches lack the innovation to scheme success on the offensive side of the ball.

If our plan is to line up and just run at people I think we are going to have a very frustrating season ahead of us.
The NFL is too smart, too talented to out man people consistently. The smart coaches are the winners these days.
Guys like Peterson and McVee understand that you need to scheme success. I dont get the same feeling from our coaching staff.

Hoping for the best of course.
Well that's what we will find out this fall.

With witten gone, and Williams hurt, we have only Beasley from last year.
The new lb changes that group.
Jones to CB, and rookies from last year should be healthy, so
Hard to say how they do, but
Should be better.
Elliot drama from last year is gone hopefully, and I read the
RB we got in 6th is a powerful
Runner, so maybe they run more.

Dak friendly schemes? Could
Be coming.

No matter what, this season is now hard to predict, could be good or bad, have to wait and see.
Right now I am more optimistic than I normally am.
Just 3 more months to PS!

I agree that there are some positives and reason for hope

We still need a 1T DT and starting caliber safety to really compete IMO

Lots of growing pains yet to endure but plenty of promise...

thats been the last few years with Romo. We even have a new QB but not yet a new era. Lets hope the new coaches can compensate for Garrett.

Dak friendly = Route running WRs. Hope these guys are .

Good post Dandy, I think it is a very different team. As you stated, it will be hard to predict, but I like the way Stephen is exerting more and more influence, away from the circus barker style that Jerry specialized in for so many years.

I don’t know what’s going to happen with this team but I like this idea: More Stephen- Less Jerry.
what i think people failed to realize is ,

one every year theres turnover, lets acknowledge the fact there were 18 new players on our squad ion 2017 for the 13-3 season the year before and the majority were on ST and Defense and at LG we had to adjust the first 5 games until we settled on coop, those DBs were all hurt coming into the season and not until late in the year did we have the starters we envisioned from TC.. There are fans here that do not acknowledge these issues and than the whole Zeke/Smith/Lee(twice)/Baily/Hitchens/Irving(twice), and other who were injured or suspended issues didnt have an effect on the team. they compared and still do that oh the eagles had injuries etc and it didnt effect them..it was different, the timing of all the injuries/suspensions didnt help with the 3 games in12 days with a night sunday game followed by b2b Thursday games in which the majority of these were out right at that moment..we sill finished 9-7 that was beating of season and the fact that we still nearly pulled it out of the toilet shows that this is a better team than most will admit given the circumstances..

So this happens yearly , some go unnoticed or not acknowledged as to reason why some teams are 13-3 one year and 9-7 or worst the next..they want to blame one coach or one player but the reason was more about turnover and bad luck with injuries and no depth to recover from those problems..

lastly Wittens not gone yet but yes this is an odd new look to lose both Dez/Witten in the same offseason and a lot of new young players are coming in once again, however the core is whats important and on offense and defense that has remained mostly intact.. IE the Oline/Zeke/Dak and the defense will be a year older and hopefully healthy..

Amazingly I get the feeling our coaches are going to actually adapt the offense to help Dak. Atleast thats the assumption Im making based on our WR changes. Its seems out of the ordinary for Garrett and I didnt think he had it in him but it sure would be nice.

I know it hasn't been just one draft but this roster all of a sudden looks pretty solid, safety or no.
If CWilliams really can start game 1 [ I think he can] we in the play offs.Last year was always the prefect storm
that Jason didn't get a handle on,admittedly. I thought after Callahan left his flunky Pollack was promoted
beyond his level of competence. Thats on Garrett.
It not just the new draft picks and FA's coming in [as we all know] it's the staff turn over.
As the OP said it's a new team. Recalling a article just written by a local sports beat writer. This season turns on Connor Williams.
I believe that.

Williams is important. Probably more important than LVE.

So when do new eras begin? Our entire team is all young players.

For some odd reason I’m more pessimistic now then I was before last season. Maybe it’s because we were 13-3 the year before. Maybe it’s because Dak has me more concerned then the year before. Maybe it’s because our recievers are a big question mark. Maybe it’s because I see other NFC teams with little weaknesses (ie Philthy, Rams, maybe Atlanta) whereas we have a lot of question marks.

I dunno, I can’t pinpoint it and I know there’s some things to be upbeat about, it’s just a feeling I have and I’m not liking it. I do like the schedule a lot, hopefully once the season gets rolling my concerns will go away instead of being reinforced.

Well I guess I won't watch then. Since we know the same results will happen.

i cant help what JJ wants, but i wont deny it. hes not looking for the Sb anymore. if the past 20 plus years havent shown you that, i dont know what will.

It looks like a 9-7 or 10-6 team to me at best.

Big plays are going to be so hard to come by and it's hard to put together long drives before a mistake happens.

Unless the coaches step up and scheme teams then the season could go either way.

I'm betting Bo Scarbrough will make a big hit with the fans once they see enough of him to step up and comment. This muscular dude is like a runaway train once he get up a head of steam. He's more than a load to bring down and breaking tackles is routine for this guy. He may not be a weapon as a receiver out of the backfield but those hard-charging runs, leaving prone bodies behind, should more than make up for it. We'll be sure to marvel at the strength and depth of our RB corps. Between Zeke, Rod and Bo, they should be a pleasure for us to behold and a curse for the opposition. ;)
