We have a new team, hard to predict

With witten gone, and Williams hurt, we have only Beasley from last year.
The new lb changes that group.
Jones to CB, and rookies from last year should be healthy, so
Hard to say how they do, but
Should be better.
Elliot drama from last year is gone hopefully, and I read the
RB we got in 6th is a powerful
Runner, so maybe they run more.

Dak friendly schemes? Could
Be coming.

No matter what, this season is now hard to predict, could be good or bad, have to wait and see.
Right now I am more optimistic than I normally am.
Just 3 more months to PS!

New names, same schemes.

Fans seem to be expecting some major changes in how we play, but Garrett isn't that adaptable. He believes in my guys beating your guys so we'll have Hurns and whoever playing the Dez and Williams roles, probably Jarwin substituting for Witten and Austin playing the Dunbar/Harris/Whitehead/Switzer role.

On defense, the addition of Richards as the passing game coordinator might mix things up some, particularly on rushing the SLB, but Marinelli isn't going to abandon the principles of his scheme.

I would think Williams should be fine by TC, or at least the start of the season. Has anyone seen any news lately on his injury and recovery and time table for it?

He swears he's 100% and isn't losing any time working and conditioning himself to be ready to go from the start. Not to worry.

He's a really hard worker. If anyone on our team is likely to be ready for the competition, it's him. I'm betting he'll make us proud.

He is actually under appreciated from many fans, but as usual they need someone or several to harp on.
Now since Dez is gone, and with the influx of WR’s. They will start on him again.

I dubbed Scarbrough Darius Jackson 2.0
Cedric Wilson will be 3.0

Not saying they don’t have a chance, but the usuals will anoint them as the did DJ.

what i think people failed to realize is ,

one every year theres turnover, lets acknowledge the fact there were 18 new players on our squad ion 2017 for the 13-3 season the year before and the majority were on ST and Defense and at LG we had to adjust the first 5 games until we settled on coop, those DBs were all hurt coming into the season and not until late in the year did we have the starters we envisioned from TC.. There are fans here that do not acknowledge these issues and than the whole Zeke/Smith/Lee(twice)/Baily/Hitchens/Irving(twice), and other who were injured or suspended issues didnt have an effect on the team. they compared and still do that oh the eagles had injuries etc and it didnt effect them..it was different, the timing of all the injuries/suspensions didnt help with the 3 games in12 days with a night sunday game followed by b2b Thursday games in which the majority of these were out right at that moment..we sill finished 9-7 that was beating of season and the fact that we still nearly pulled it out of the toilet shows that this is a better team than most will admit given the circumstances..

So this happens yearly , some go unnoticed or not acknowledged as to reason why some teams are 13-3 one year and 9-7 or worst the next..they want to blame one coach or one player but the reason was more about turnover and bad luck with injuries and no depth to recover from those problems..

lastly Wittens not gone yet but yes this is an odd new look to lose both Dez/Witten in the same offseason and a lot of new young players are coming in once again, however the core is whats important and on offense and defense that has remained mostly intact.. IE the Oline/Zeke/Dak and the defense will be a year older and hopefully healthy..

I strongly feel Scarbrough is significantly more promising than Jackson ever was. Williams might well bear a reasonably valid cause to question, due largely to that knee injury that he believes to be fully healed. Nevertheless, it's not remotely as difficult to overcome as it once was. I much prefer to wait patiently and see the evidence being presented to form my opinions as to how to assess our personnel.

Far too many of us chomp at the bit to offer kneejerk assessments, if only to validate our knowledge. I think there's a reason why Williams was rated as a 1st round pick by so many draft gurus. In any event, we'd likely be wise to sit back and wait for additional evidence to present itself before making premature declarations that are only that. Rookies just have to prove themselves, period. If he does, we'll be the happy benefactors.

I'm betting Bo Scarbrough will make a big hit with the fans once they see enough of him to step up and comment. This muscular dude is like a runaway train once he get up a head of steam. He's more than a load to bring down and breaking tackles is routine for this guy. He may not be a weapon as a receiver out of the backfield but those hard-charging runs, leaving prone bodies behind, should more than make up for it. We'll be sure to marvel at the strength and depth of our RB corps. Between Zeke, Rod and Bo, they should be a pleasure for us to behold and a curse for the opposition. ;)
I have not seen him yet but excited to see what he can do.
So his name is Bo easy to type and spell, lol.
I just hope they use him more than they did Morris.

Why would you hope that? I hope Zeke gets 98.62% of all carries, and don't give a flip if the backups never see the field.

I hope the backups play well on the scout team during practice Wed - Fri.
