We have a problem with these LBs

Ok I just watched the game. Mostly on the defensive side. I saw something very troubling to me. Smith and to a lesser extent LVE actively avoiding contact. It is amazing to see this because these 2 were thumpers last year. What the hell is going on? Ben Bloom needs to go and whoever comes in next needs to get after these 2. Smith in particular. Guy runs away from contact.

Any one else seeing this?

The whole attack scheme is hurting this team. Everyone in the front 7 is over aggressively attacking, and yet our secondary is as passive as they come. Huge holes created by stunts, LB’s over running plays. No middle pressure due to smallish players and stunts. And a secondary that allows everything in front of them. It’s no different than what we griped about with Campo and Zimmer.

They are saving themselves for the end of the season so they aren't banged up come playoff time. It's a conspiracy. LOL.

I think the scheme and philosophy is exposing our linebackers. Not exposed as in they suck and are overrated but exposed as in highlighting some injuries and weaknesses, making them look worse than they are.

The LB’ers aren’t really put into a position to succeed with what they are being asked to do.

Jaylon should be exclusively a blitzing linebacker. Put Joe Thomas in the field above him.

When you have weak DTs it allows blockers to get to the second level where any LB won’t have a chance. LBers are built to run. They won’t be ragdolling to many pulling guards with a head of steam.

like others have said, our scheme and lack of talent from the DL combine to put our LBer in bad situations too often.

Been that way most of the year. I have no idea why it’s not improving.

Some fans will get sucked in to the couple splash plays they make, but throughout the game, the LBs are regularly being washed out and physically dominated

I did not see the game today, but Smith and LVE have not been at the level they were last season. I see it more in LVE than Smith. But neither are good at fighting off blocks. The difference is last year they used their quickness to beat the blockers to the point of attack. They are not doing that this year.

That is complete fiction.

I just re-watched the game.
