We have clearly improved

people need to stop looking at our team with rose colored glasses. The eagles are signing players like nnamdi and jenkins and we are signing undrafted free agents and Kenyon Coleman...You are sick if you think the talent level on this team has improved. This free agency period has been awful...are we really to get excited over Abe Elam, who we havent even signed yet!? Give me a break.

You forgot the glass half full and out to lunch comparisons...

I do think you are right that we have improved. the problem is, there were better teams than us last year who have improved MORE than we have.

I'm as optimistic as they come and I can't see more than 10 wins on this schedule. And 10 is my "best case" scenario.

I think we're a wild card team at best, with maybe one playoff win in us.

I really hope I'm wrong, btw, but for once, I refuse to get my hopes up yet again only to be let down. I'm going with lower expectations this year.

I think this team improved, but looking at the schedule we might be a 7-9 worst case, 9-7 best case. I say battling it out with the Gmen for second place.

I see Philly, St Louis, Tampa Bay/Atlanta, Green Bay division winners. 1 wild card team from the South with second place teams from the east/north battling it out for the last spot.

I'd be very surprised to see this team make the playoffs this year.

I have never been a big fan of the go down the road prediction method.

Football is about momentum. That first week against the Jets is huge. If we can get that one on the road then we have a good shot to get on a roll and take those first four games.

If not? then we get a good image of how mentally tough these guy are. The list does not represent how things actually play out.

Really? These games are up in the air for you? Really?

Why don't you just add Buffalo to the list with question marks?

I love how some of you folks like to make these bold statements as if we're the freakin' early 90s Cowboys.

Here's news, we aren't.

The same ones acting like it's a foregone conclusion we win these games are the same Nostradamuses with Cowboys' lenses that didn't think we'd lose:

Week 1 against the Commanders...

Week 2, "I feel sorry for the Bears, we're gonna stomp them out..."

Week 3, "Ha ha, I told you so....weeee're back! All you worry warts thought we were doomed..."

Week 4, "We're gonna make Vince Young look like a fool!"

et cetera and on to 10 losses.

We still have a ton of talent on this team, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Its just hard to tell where we really stand based on last season. Are they the team that beat the Colts in Indy or the one that got humiliated by Green Bay? I would like to think they are much closer to the one that JG lit a fire under then the one that Wade let get complacent and soft.

For the record I have us wrecking the Philadelphia Heat.

Fuzzy, you are clearly an intelligent football fan. I like the way you think and analyze

Don't start talking momentum, heart, emotion, teamwork, etc. around here, though. The "Realists" all know football from Madden and those players don't have souls. All that matters is names, stats, numbers, programs, algorithims.

That's why they think we are worse than last year. That's why they can ignore the huge improvements that are a) Garrett b) Ryan c) Romo and d) A hungry team.

It happens every year in the NFL. Bad teams according to Madden and the "realists" become good teams. It's amazing. And none of them ever sign Nnamdi or whoever is the flavor of the month.

It has to do with dedication, emotion, momentum, coaching -- it's a team game. And we have a MUCH IMPROVED team from 6-10.

Honestly. I don't care what your a fan of. This is just how on "paper" I think things could pan out. I actually think this offseason has become more addition by subtraction and that the locker room should stay pretty positive if things go bad.

Did i ***** stutter? I mean we could go through the matchups and see Dallas is really not that much better then these teams. And like I said the Miami game is a lean towards the Cowboys, but not enough for me to say it's an easy win.

Detroit and Stl are teams making good strides at being competitive. I don't see these games being chalk them up games.

We're actually worse than last year's 6-10 debacle. We lost most of our depth in the trenches and at the WR and RB positions. We have added a rookie RT this off-season. Hardly an impact player. We're officially in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes. All we need is for Roger Staubach to grant his permission to issue him # 12.

You actually could add Buffalo to the list with question marks because it IS a question mark.

We see this every single year. No one has any clue what's going to happen from week to week, yet some fans start penciling in wins or losses in November and December during the first week of August.

No one has any idea.

Not trolling, but this team is shaping to be worse than last year's 6-10 team talent-wise.

No Wade, Romo's back, so there is certainly room for improvement but talent wise we've taken a big step back, imo.

-No depth at the offensive line, rookie at RT, questions at RG.

-Maybe the worst starting MLB in football, Brooking, is back.
-Safety?
-No depth at receiver.
-No upgrades at CB. Missed out on top FA CBs.
-Can Felix play at 16 games? Can Tashard be effective in short yardage?
-Gurode hurt, Brooking hurt, B. Carter hurt, Tashard hurt.
-The rest of the NFC East has improved

I actually like Jerry & Son, but what a horrible offseason. I wasn't expecting a revamped team, but I was expecting something. Anything. I'm just hoping someone bumps this in January, maybe on Superbowl weekend, reminding me how much of an idiot I am.

The Cowboys' depth along the offensive line isn't substantially worse than anyone else's, in my opinion. That's the nature of the league now.
Fair, but O-Line was a problem in last year's 6-10 team and there hasn't been any improvement (unless you want to go the addition by subtraction route).

I love how a conversation with you leads to a detour in Schmuckville. Why don't you get on to the plonker who made the list to begin with? And why don't you give him a special reaming for going ahead and guaranteeing a sweep of Washington, in addition to beating the Cardinals, 49ers, and NFC West champion Seahawks. G'ahead. Give him some of your vitriol. Stultus est.

No one said we were. That's you playing the straw man fallacy because you can't debate anyone straight up.

What would you call someone who predicts the past? I can't say it. This word filter software is good.

Yet the Washington games are enough for you to say that it's a guaranteed sweep? Good gravy. There's no consistency in who you've given the guaranteed wins to and who you've given the question marks to. I mean, I think it's fair to give New York question marks both times. But how could you then act like we might not win the Thanksgiving game against the Dolphins? Is Leon Lett playing? Is Quincy Carter going to start that game?

Well, if we were on the road, I'd be inclined to agree with you. However, we've got them in our building and I don't think those young teams are going to be able to outlast a healthy, competent, veteran team. Now, please, check those first two adjectives. If we lose either one of those going into the matchups, I don't think they're as easy as we want them to be.
