I don't think people realized how good Chinn and Winfield really were.
Chinn was amazing this year; closest thing I've seen to Kam Chancellor.
Winfield was downgraded for his size. That kid is a football player.
This year..
Guys I like:
Trevon Moehrig, TCU - Great athlete, makes plays, true centerfielder. Reminds me of Jesse Bates (Wake Forest/Cincinnati Bengals). also like Bates, not the greatest tackler.
Bubba Bolden, S, Miami - Known him since he was a sophomore in high school. 1st round physical ability, play consistency is not where you'd like it be.
Talano Hufanga, USC - Kept him out of rankings due to my USC homerness slash bias. He just makes plays, over and over again. I was worried about his 40 time and overall athletic ability, but he finds the ball. Was Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year this season.
Hamsah Nasirildeen, Florida State - Poor man's Isaiah Simmons. Great size and movement skills. Can help with the dangerous Tight Ends in the league.
Tyree Gillespie, Missouri - Thumper, reminds me of the 49ers Jaquiski Tartt.
Divine Deablo, Virginia Tech - Speaking of Kam Chancellor earlier, this fellow Virginia Tech alum is big boy and does his work closer to the LOS.
Guys I do not like:
Andre Cisco, Syracuse - I want to like him, I really do. He can be special when the ball is in the air. He can also be outright stupid. Scares me if he's your last line of defense.
Richard LeCounte, Georgia - Georgia is always talented on defense. You have 7 or 8 future NFL players around you. I wanted to see more plays. I wanted to see elite movement skills.
Paris Ford, Pitt - Like Cisco, I just think he makes really poor decisions at times. Capable of big plays. I'm allowing the possibility that I'm wrong on Ford (and Cisco).
Caden Sterns, Texas - Does not make plays. Looks the part, seems to shy away from physicality.
Guys I cannot figure out:
Jevon Holland, Oregon - Nickel guy, not sure about his speed. Versatility is his biggest asset.
Richie Grant, UCF - Seems like he's been there forever. UCF has some talented CB's (in 2019) so I wonder how much of his success was due to them.
James Wiggins, Cincinnati - Crazy athlete but seems like he's always hurt. Also older than most prospects.
Ar'Darius Washington, TCU - He's like a mix of Lamarcus Joyner and Bob Sanders to me. He's tiny, but I'm sure someone is going to draft him in the middle rounds, put him at Nickel, and watch him make plays.
