They might have 12 wins in 2024. The real circus is the big over reaction before the draft even takes place . Sure they could possibly have a down year, but they should have between 8 and 12 wins. The over reaction in here is the equivalent to the over reaction about the kicker last year. A lot of people have egg on their faces on that one.

Not even close comparing this to people doubting a kicker lol

It is the same old thing. Mass craziness over reaction. It was bs about the kicker and the media and fans ran with it.

It’s not even close to the same thing. The kicker is one position out of an entire roster who could have been good or could have been bad itwas up for debate for one singular position. The cowboys right now to anyone who isn’t a complete blind homer of the team beyond any rational thought knows the team is worse in multiple areas.

This isn’t hey the kicker may suck, this is a 12-5 team that is worse at d line, running back, o line etc., they’ve taken multiple steps back and didn’t do a damn thing to close the gap between them and elite teams. They weren’t good enough last year and right now they are worse than that team.

Fan anyway you want, I’ve defended the team countless times but at least be rational.

You need to wait for the draft and see how the season starts. They are good. They should have double digit wins again for the 4th year in a row. The masses on here are not rational. Rational would have them winning 8 to 12 games and waiting to see how everything comes out in the wash.

The goal isn’t to win double digit games at this point, that was commendable for 3 years and it is an accomplishment. the goal now is to at minimum make a championship game, that’s the minimum right now. The cowboys were at a fork in the road this offseason , get aggressive and fix some holes with solidified talent ( d tackle, line backer, rb etc) and bring back some of their own who have done well here.

Instead they are electing to fill holes with draft picks and unproven guys, the draft is an absolute crap shoot, it’s one thing to plug 2-3 holes and say hey we will be good, they are doing it all over the roster. At best with incredible draft luck, jumps from unproven guys the team will be as good as last years and that’s with incredible good fortune.

They are resetting in front of our eyes, it’s clear as day. Sure, if everything hits right for the cowboys maybe they win 12 games again but this is not a championship roster, it’s not close.

Have to. No salary cap room.

By choice. At minimum an extension for Ceedee frees up cap space, a dak extension frees up more and that’s before you restructure diggs or Martin. The cowboys not having cap space this off season is an absolute farce that’s being spun by cowboy sympathizers and echoed by fans.

Yes, bills become due, but this franchise has kicked the can down the road and restructured contracts so many times before this with teams that literally had no shot. They have a team now that actually has a shot and needed slight adjustments which they could have easily done with the extensions mentioned above- both that will eventually get done anyways and likely be more expensive when they do, in particular Ceedee who if you’d paid now you’d let him set the market and it would immediately be out done by Jefferson and chase instead of letting those players set the market and paying more.

The no cap space is absolutely a cowboys choice this offseason. Kick the can again and worry about the bill later, we are on a 30 year drought. They punted on an off season and maybe a season and it’s a huge mistake. Take the medicine and pay the bill but not right now.

Marketing team, fronting for an NFL franchise.

I doubt they win 3 games, and the implosion will happen before the end of October.

Who would have any respect for all those “substitute teachers” running the team? Even the QB is one at this point.

They are gonna make rebuilding as ugly and difficult as possible because they don’t know that they are rebuilding.

Let's see how it plays out. The favorites right now are the 49ers and the Chiefs, but anything can happen in the 20 games it takes to get there.

That makes no sense. CeeDee would be a young quarterback’s dream. Dak almost was the MVP because he decided to throw the football to CeeDee after week 4.CeeDee was our only offensive weapon last season that scared anyone.
And yet Jerry is out there shooting his mouth off about "well you can have 4 or 5 guys for what CeeDee is going to cost and you have to use him to justify that cost".

Doesnt sound like Jerry is too eager to write that check.

No he isn’t but they claim all the money they are saving is for the big 3. I do believe think CeeDee might get franchised in 2025.

This rebuild is just letting guys run out of contract. They aren't cutting guys. They just let them walk. This is what I see with Dak. Which is very foolish. Just trade him now and get value. Why wait it out? It sabotages the team. Thats why I think they are letting Gilmore seek out teams...instead of offering him a deal. Its a youth movement but being done the wrong way. It is being done in a clandestine manner. But the entire world see's it.

Jerry and Stevie are snookering the fans and media they think, but we know. The Titanic is being sabotaged. My question is, why? What can be gained by undermining the team, the staff, and the fans? Or do the Joneses actually think they are being smart? Its really weird.

Feels like stagnation due to a bad QB contract but if this is rebuilding to you then okay.

Generally speaking when people claim official status and nebulous but great knowledge, it reeks of a con.

I think Jimmy Johnson may be influencing things behind the scenes. He was added to this so-called "strategic counsel" after he and Jerry made up and he got put in the Ring.

Jimmy always said you want to be very good or very bad, being in the middle is the worst thing in the world. Not good enough to win a ring, but good enoug to miss out on the high draft picks.

I think this might be the Cowboys deciding "its time to get really bad"............gut the roster, sign all coaches to 1 yr deals, sign any new contracts to be only 1 yr deals, and let everybody else play out their contract and walk next season.

That is really the only thing that makes sense here, otherwise its just a total cluster ***** of an offseason.

True but if you're not keeping Dak, I'm not sure it makes sense to pay Cee Dee. In other words, I'm not pairing a $30M+ WR with a rookie QB. Parsons, yes I keep but I would trade CeeDee if Dak leaves. Now if Dak is replaced with another vet ( Wilson, Carr, Fields ) then yea, you keep him.
This is all speculation obviously, but why not pay CD to give a young QB a great reliable target?
