Crawford at RDE and Lawrence at LDE was prolific. Lawrence made a well regarded RT look like a rookie UDFA and Crawford was very effective on the other side as well. In theory it should work very well alignment wise. Crawford should be able to pressure the QB from a 6 gap and allow Lawrence to align wide in a 9 without spreading the line out.

I didnt get a great look of exactly where they had Crawford aligned at RDE. Did anyone that has reviewed the film notice if the had him in a 6 or a 7 gap mostly?

TCrawford can do a lot of different things.... that is his value..... he has been good as the LDE against the run and can also play the 3T............ DLaw as the pass rushing LDE was phenomenal

Lawrence made Crawfords job easier because he was pushing palmer to the left side where Crawford had an easier time cleaning up. One of better games I've seen from Crawford in awhile.

DLaw pass rushing at LDE when healthy has pretty much always been very good at least. Thats where he went on a tear the second half of 2015

Agree. I think is mostly about "aint broke, don't fix it" with DLaw at LDE and the fact Crawford can play a lot of positions. But with the depth and rotation scheme, I'm fine with Crawford taking 20 - 30 of the RDE snaps.

There is 0 reason to move DLaw to the right side. No comparison, but Reggie White played the left side. It's smart to get your best pass rusher against the 2nd best OT. The only reason more teams don't do it is because many have smaller speed rushers as their best guy, even OLBs, and you have to be stout against the run on the right side.

I thought Demontre Moore looked very good for his first game; he will only get better over the next couple weeks. DLaw and Moore on the left side; Charlton, Mayowa, and Tapper on the right side. Crawford and Irving will improve the pass rush from the inside and outside, wherever needed.

I know he's not coming back, most likely, but one can dream of a healthy DLaw on one side with Gregory on the other side, Collins and Irving inside, and everyone else as depth.

Also, Julius Peppers played the left side in Carolina, Strahan played the left side in NY, Mathis played the left side in Indy

Crawford is not a good fit at RDE-- simply not fast enough. His most natural position would be 3Tech-- but he is not as good as Collins. Next would be LDE-- but he's not as good as D Law. IMO-- although he got 1 sack last night, he did not get nearly enough pressure on Palmer considering he was playing a backup LT and D Law was a force of nature from LDE.

Crawford is solid-- but he may end up being more of a rotational player down the line. I like him-- he plays hard, and I loved his hustle overall last night, but this DL is getting crowded quickly.

I would offer DLaw 4/40m right now
Sure, than he gets injured in week 8 and misses 4 games. Comes back and is not nearly as much of a factor for the rest of that contract you just gave him. No thanks. Lets hold off on contract talks with this man until the end of the season.

Although I agree that we want more pressure from RDE, Crawford gave us more than we've been getting from the rest. He's probably our third-best lineman right now (ahead of Paea).

If someone steps up to be a better RDE option, then Crawford can split his time backing up Collins and Lawrence. Irving fits best at both of those spots as well. We just still have to find those better options at RDE ... and maybe Charlton and Tapper can eventually turn into that.

That would be some pretty nice depth, but right now, we still don't have that impact RDE, just Crawford doing all he can at a position that doesn't really fit his skill set.

If D-Law is finally healthy with his back, and now has the knowledge to set up Tackles with different moves = experience, I'm fine with paying him market value at the end of the year. If he can sustain how he is playing all year - pay that man. If he drops off later in the year - pay him a little less, but pay him.

Not sure if Gregory will ever play another down for Dallas, and at this point don't care. I do like our depth along the front and fully expect when Irving comes back for him to play inside. Crawford should be a rotational player, backup 3-tech and occasional RDE, he is what he is and is getting paid what Dallas agreed to, so just use him as best they can. No need to cut him, he can play at least 3 of 4 front line positions so just rotate him where needed. Taco will only improve, so I'm reasonably happy with the front depth wise. If Paea can get thru his knee injury he will play much better next to Collins as well.
After last night, I'm much calmer about both defense and offense - the more they all play, the better they will gell.

Hmmm...that is funny...i read on multiple places on here that Crawford was terrible last night.

I agree, he played well.
