We heard all this with Jason Garrett

I don't really get it.

If you said Dak was Romo 2.0 or Rush wad Garret 2
All we heard from Garrett apologists was that he always had the #1 offense, or at least top 10.
It didn't matter that we were 8-8.
Now it's the same argument - big stats, but not winning. Dak Prescott is Jason Garrett 2.0.
Cooper Rush doesn't rack up huge stats, but we're winning.
I'll take winning.

I don't really get it, Dak is a QB and Garrett is a coach. When Garrett was a player he was a backup and Dak a starter. Did you mean to say Dak is Romo 2.0?

No. Dak was taught by Garrett, coddled by Garrett, and he learned to always let someone else take the blame for the team's failure.
Dak wasn't made to play in preseason unless the entire 1st string line was in the game. He never had to earn his position.
He came in behind what might have been the most powerful line in NFL history, and took credit for the Cowboys success in 2016 even though he had Ezekiel Elliott ripping up defenses and simply stood behind a wall and took his time to pass.
As the o-line weakened, Garrett was desperate to believe Dak was "great", and coddled him, not making him take responsibility for struggling behind a weakened line.
Garrett didn't understand how greatness is achieved. He thought it just happened. Dak never learned to earn it. Garrett never learned, having been given his position by Jerry Jones, despite being inexperienced and inept as an assistant coach.

I hated they gave Dak the job over Romo, but to say he was handed the job and didnt earn it??? I stopped reading right then... and Im still not a huge Dak fan, but that comment was dumb. JG taught Dak to never take responsibility? Sure...

He didn't.
Dak became the starter because Kellen Moore broke his foot when a lineman stepped on it in practice. With Romo hurt, they kept Dak in after Romo healed because we were winning. But it wasn't because of Dak. It was Ezekiel Elliot and that offensive line- coupled with the fact that the Cowboys opponents were weak that year
The next year Romo was gone, and Dak was anointed as a "phenom" because the Cowboys went 13-3 the previous year, even though Dak choked in the first half of the Packers game in the playoffs.

WTH are you talking about? Every game in the NFL is playing under pressure. Dak started off like 11-1 or something, they decided if he could go 11-1 as a rookie it was better to make a move to a 22 year old and start again vs the 36 or whatever Romo was. I wouldnt have done it, I loved Romo and thought we had a better chance at a SB with Romo than with Dak. We would have won the GB playoff game if Heath had pounded the ball on a total blind sided sack of Rodgers at the end of the game. It didnt work out, but to blame Dak for that game is dumb. IN addition, why the hell are you even bringing up stuff from 6 years ago? We are 4-1 with one of the best defenses in the league and are about to get back our starter as we are ready to have a major showdown tomorrow night and you want to sit back and whine about 6 years ago? Holy crap......

Dak Prescott is not Jason Garrett 2.0

Garrett on game day was a liability even at his best

dislike Prescott as much as you all want the man is A Top 10 qb and the reason so many people are harsh on him is because hes a cowboy
I’m not sure if Dak is Top 10 anymore or not. Sometimes he plays like top 10. Other times …..not so much.

Dak was in the Cooper Rush’s position several years ago and the Dak haters said,

“It doesn’t matter that he wins, he only throws for 200 yards.”

Haters are going to hate. Dak is back next week, and I can’t wait for him to light up the offense.

And I hope you guys get the quintessential Dak every game.

I've seen Dak's ceiling. I know it's useless.

You should probably update your eye glasses then bc Dak having great games is no doubt gonna take us where we want to go.

Cheering against the starting QB is some lame fan energy.

Call me crazy but I think as a fan of the team you should be rooting for the QB to have great games.....hmmmmm
If Dak would learn how to play his position and not choke every time the game gets too big for him, I'd love to cheer him on. Up until now, though, he's been useless.

Is 12-5 last year not winning?

I remember when Dak won 11 straight but guys didn't like him cause he didn't have stats....

Just trying to clarify what we want at QB once and for all so we aren't moving goal post and changing it

Someone who knows what he's doing and makes the team better.
Dak doesn't. He is just along for the ride.

But he wins games, which is what you want..... Especially against division rivals.

Playoffs haven't been kind to Dallas in almost 30 regardless of QB and Rush hasn't played in the playoffs so you can only mean winning in the regular season since you like Rush over Dak

Just trying to get clarification once and for all what we want in a QB. Stats or wins cause Dak has both
