there’s not a single person who prefers stats to winning. the thought is that anemic offense is unsustainable when the defense eventually falters.
I haven't seen anemic offense under Rush.
What I have seen is him hitting his receivers in stride, but they drop the ball.
I've seen the Cowboys go with a conservative approach on the road against the defending Super Bowl Champions.
I've seen the Cowboys FINALLY utilize the running game.
I've seen Rush make snap decisions to hit open receivers with a defender in his face.
The Cowboys would have had another touchdown vs the Giants if Cee Dee Lamb doesn't drop a deep pass that hit him in the chest.
The Cowboys put up 25 points vs the Commanders.
The Cowboys beat the Bengals and the Rams.
The offense has been effective.

Effective. That's a good word, and accurate for this O. Ball control, sustaining drives, that's the sort of stuff that wins in the playoffs.

i’ve seen the same things and have a healthy respect for Rush because of it. There’s no way around the fact that the offense has been trending down and currently sits near the bottom of the pack in most metrics. I’ll take the wins, just doesn’t inspire confidence

Well then they better figure out something different, because "ball control, sustaining drives" is the exact opposite of what this offense is doing.

27th in the league in plays per drive.
28th in the league in yards per drive.
Over their last 3 games (because that's easy data to get and I wanted to exclude the TB game), 23rd in the league in 3rd-down conversions.

12 of their last 19 meaningful drives (excluding end-of-half, end-of-game, and the last clock-killing 3-and-out against the Rams) have failed to gain even 10 yards.

All we heard from Garrett apologists was that he always had the #1 offense, or at least top 10.
It didn't matter that we were 8-8.
Now it's the same argument - big stats, but not winning. Dak Prescott is Jason Garrett 2.0.
Cooper Rush doesn't rack up huge stats, but we're winning.
I'll take winning.
What do win mean...

The Cowboys were 12-6 last season.

Call me when Rush wins a playoff game...

We’re winning games because of our defense. Our lack of offense is going to catch up with us. If we had the offense we had in previous years to go along with this defense we would win 13+ games easy.

If we get down by 10 or more points with this offense we’re going to be in big trouble! We haven’t gotten down by more than one TD in any of the games we’ve played with Cooper Rush. If we have a game we’re having to play from behind all day it’s going to lead to a long day. You can’t overcome a multi score deficit with an anemic passing attack.

102 yards passing is tops in your book...13 points is tops in your book. wow, your standard are low... but then again, you are driving an agenda.

and cowboys did have a conservative approach. they ran the ball 30 times. passed it 16.... yeah, keep saying BS like you are doing and keep sinking deeper.

rush is hitting open recievers? how? he is 61.3% completion rate say otherwise. we are 27th in passing, 31st in 1st downs, 25th in scoring....yeah, what an effective offense.

the defense is second in pressures, sacks, QB Hits, tackles for loss, pass defense, #3 in scoring defense and top 10 in yards and yet the offense has been effective.

yeah the defense has totally sucked. they are an awful bunch. I mean if it wasn't for this effective offense, this defense would be doomed.

oh you know him. he has an agenda to drive. no facts he can provide, just empty rhetoric. that's him. its his eye test, but normally through beer-bottle glasses after 8 or 9 of them. o_O

Are you serious?
I never ever heard or seen written anyone say…we are 8-8, but hey we got a good offense…

I will take the winning also. But you are way over stretching your Dak discord on this one.

Definitely, and we will soon see what Dak has learned from his injury with this offense.

The defense is finally getting help in tough ball games from the offense. They're doing great, but please tell me you're not so naive as to think Rush isn't helping by moving the ball down the field repeatedly?
Field position alone is a big difference.

Yeah field position in moving the ball with run game, punting, kicking field goals. It's not sustainable.

Dak Prescott is not Jason Garrett 2.0

Garrett on game day was a liability even at his best

dislike Prescott as much as you all want the man is A Top 10 qb and the reason so many people are harsh on him is because hes a cowboy

We are harsh on him bc the man has 1 playoff win in 3 trips to the postseason and rarely ever plays well against good teams, See Tampa week 1. Against teams with winning records, out of division, he's very mediocre.

Biggest complaint I had with Garrett is we could never build off one season to the next, it was always 1 step forward and 1 step back. I think Garrett is 2016 was a very good job, winning coach of the year honors and in my view rightly so considering we relied on a Rookie QB and produced a very good season. Yet the following year just as before the team failed to make post season, we could never string seasons together and build off of them

Teams change each year, for the most part each year is its own, the salary cap is the biggest culprit. What's happening now wouldn't happen in Garrett's time because those teams were built with veterans that were already here, what's happening now is a soft rebuild and a change in philosophy build the defense.

If you really don't think it matters to the defense whether or not the offense can move the ball and at the least change field position, you don't know football.

Theyre not moving it...lol they're ranked 29th in 3rd down conversion rate....lol

You mean the team is mediocre. In most of the playoff games he's played well enough to win, he's played well enough to win in many other games too, but lazy fans only see results in a team stat. Watching this team win these last few weeks drives the team wins games narrative home and most of you still can't see it.. .lol

The "team" isn't overthrowing wide open receivers. The "team" isnt throwing the ball wide to the side of open receivers.
The "team" isn't choking until the opposing defenses play loose.
Dak is.

Rodgers, Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Jackson, Herbert, Brady, Stafford, Watson, Then I think you could debate Hurts, Murray and Dak...... but in the end, who cares. Does top ten win a sb or not, tats all we care about.

I love Rush

but the defense is winning these games Rush just isnt losing it with turnovers but this style of winning isnt sustainable

not even the 85 bears or the 00 ravens held every team under 20 a game
2000 ravens gave up 3,10,3, and 7 points in consecutive playoff games.
85 bears gave up 0,0,10 on 3 playoff games.
