We literally do not have a running back

So many want the sexy picks instead of sound fundamental thinking while drafting. We are playing the long game not trying to get to the SB this year but instead building something for the future that will last more than one year. Hang tight and see where this is going.
ok ill beat someone at saying this lol
we been hangin tight and playing the long game for 29 years . at what point have we been hanging long enough?

Not one single fan is going to be happy no matter who they pick.
People here complain that Jerry wants to sell Jerseys, then when they pick a fundamental player, they complain.

We could have had Hampton at 12. We pass and draft a Guard, that they did not need. This pick screams. Wasted pick. Booker has a 2nd round grade. So than they get another chance to get a good back. Johnson available. What does Jerry do. He picks a crippled corner and than does a dance. So now we have three defensive backs who will start the season on the PUP list. This sums up the last 30 years.

Here come the contrarians. It’s ok.

Focusing on the trenches is hardly a waste. I’ve seen the same responses to the same type of picks before. Let’s wait and see what happens the rest of the draft and offseason.

This organization thinks they are building such a stout Oline that you can throw anyone behind it and get success. You might get ok performance, but come playoffs, the warts will show. There's a reason the Eagles got Saquon despite having a great Oline, and they won a superbowl.

This draft was all about replacing the important pieces that left, aka Zack Martin and Demarcus Lawrence. Seeing some of Stephen Jones comments, I don't know if they actually have a real philosophy on building a team. It's pretty much just recreating what' they've been doing already. If you don't take an RB in the draft, you should have done more than get some budget option in free agency, but Stephen seems to think that bolstering the oline will allow 5th rounders to turn into immediate starters.

Ok so explain drafting a crippled defensive back over Johnson
PFF called it an elite level pick.
The Athletic (Bruegler) gave it an A.
CBS gave it an A+
Walter Football A+

Pretty much every expert out there gave the pick the highest marks.

76. DALLAS COWBOYS: CB SHAVON REVEL, EAST CAROLINA

Pick Grade: Elite

Revel was the No. 44 player on the PFF big board, so his selection represents great value for the Cowboys at No. 76. Revel is a tall outside who earned a coverage grade above 80.0 in both 2023 and 2024.

76. Dallas Cowboys: Shavon Revel Jr., CB, East Carolina

This could be a serious steal for Dallas. Revel has outstanding size, speed and ball skills, but he unfortunately suffered a knee injury in that ended his 2024 season. Had he played all year and been able to test, he may have been a first-round pick.

Grade: A

76. Cowboys: Shavon Revel Jr., CB, East Carolina

Grade: A+

If not for a torn ACL in September, Revel likely goes significantly higher than this. He's a tall, long, big-time playmaker in man and zone coverage. Some stiffness when following routes from his backpedal, yet his makeup speed mitigated any of those issues at a smaller-school level. While not a huge striker, doesn't miss many tackles. The Cowboys add another turnover creator at CB

Dallas Cowboys: Shavon Revel, CB, East Carolina – A+ Grade
What a steal! The Cowboys have more than made up for their first-round gaffe. Shavon Revel was getting some first-round buzz, so there’s no reason he should have fallen to the third round. There’s an injury, but not a major one. What a steal for Dallas.

Come on, does this not worry anyone. What are they doing
Sure we do.
We can upgrade but itsnot asdire as some thing

Javonte Williams…25, 2 yrs removed from knee surg. Beast potential
Miles Sanders….27…solid all around.
Duece Vaughn

Now lets add a rookie!

And there is more late round talent this year than maybe any year I’ve seen.

I’m hoping for Bhayshul Tuten.

He’s a playmaker. We could use that type of speed at the RB position.

Let our improved OL give him a crease and before you know it, he is 10-15 yards down field.

Drafting Booker allows you options. Such as Tyler at left tackle.

Grant wasn’t gonna stop us from getting run up the gut. Not one player will do that. Mazi keeps getting the credit for why I run defense isn’t bad but that whole line and linebacker group struggled.
They had plenty of guards already that weren't scrubs.
The need on the oline was upgrade(s) at tackle.
Waiting on another project year of left tackle play is not the recipe for success for an often injured QB.
Grant is a day one upgrade over Mazi and immediate impact improvement at the team's most glaring need of run stopping.
Josh Simmons medicals were reported as clear.
At the minimum if not taking Grant, he should have been the choice based again on immediate impact and need.
I propose a starting DT1 or LT provides immediate team improvement over any OG.

I actually like the guys that we have (yes, I know how that sounds). I also like Cam Skattebo.
Cam absolutely destroyed my Horns in the peach bowl game and was highly impressive.
He convinced me on who he was all about on that day.

We said that last year. We just didn't think enough of Dowdle who went for 1k yards despite being lightly used for the first half of the season.

What guards did they have? What guards were you ok with looking across from Jalen Carter and Dexter Lawrence and not piss down their leg? I like Brock Hoffman but he’s a prime example of someone you would want to be your backup and strengthen your unit.
