We need more agressive Corners

As much as I like what Claiborne is doing this year, I think the defense we are running needs more aggressive corners. We don't have a single ballhawk in our secondary.

I'm not a huge fan of Janoris Jenkins, but if Marinelli is our DC in 2016, Jenkins is a CB that will be on my radar. I think with Scandrick coming back next year, Jones will be moved to safety. But we need to start looking for Church's replacement, he doesn't have the athleticism to be a starter in this league.

There's only one corner, Hargreaves, I really like in this draft and he'll be taken in the top 10-15. But I'm also interested to see where Fuller drops in the draft after his injury, a second or third round pick for him may be a steal.

It's getting more and more clear that the players we have on this defense aren't fitting the scheme we are running, especially in our secondary. This needs to be addressed, ASAP.

My personal opinion watching him yesterday I want Jones at CB. He looked like he could play the full gambit at the position at a high level. He can cover the outside, slot. Press and off. Zone and man

Dont know what there plan is for him, but I prefer him at CB

I actually think Church is fine. He's playing his position correctly-- there really aren't nearly as many playmakers at the SS position these days. Church is a sure tackler and there's much worse out there. FS is the problem.

I actually think our CBs are okay. When they usually are beaten, it's not by much and more often than not they're being pushed off or picked. Example, Matthews subtle shoves to create space between he and jones on he final play (the same play as earlier in the game too by the way).

Need to replace Carr too and find a new ss cause Wilcox sucks.

Marinelli inherited man CB's to run a zone scheme and he tweeked it for man coverage. We havent done nearly enough adding CB's that fit what we should be looking for as far as CB's. Any scheme from the Kiffin school is only going to do so well with man coverage

Yeah, I'm already expecting us to cut ties with Carr. But I fully expect Jones to move to safety since Scandrick will be coming back.

Our secondary is about to go to **** at the worst possible time. Not a great FA and the draft class isn't looking great either.

Jones has been very impressive. He'll make an impact no matter where they put him.

Going to need more linebackers too. Lee needs to retire and romac hasn't showed up yet. Also need like 2 dt's.

This roster needs to look a lot different next season.

Byron Jones looks like a really good corner. With him and O-Scan next year I'm not really worried about the DB position. Replace Carr with a cheaper and more efficient option and put the money at safety.

Clemson CB Mackensie Alexander is a fast riser and likely high 1st rounder.

I think we should move on from Claiborne and Carr.

Two guys I would want are:
Trumaine Johnson, Rams, 6-2/208 Age 25

Big, physical CB who fits Marinelli's scheme. The Rams have 4 major contributors (Johnson, Janoris Jenkins, Mark Barron, and Rodney McLeod) in their secondary hitting free agency.

Brandon Boykin
, Steelers, 5-10/182 Age 25

His off-the-charts athleticism makes up for his lack of size, he is ideal to match-up with quicker slot WR's. The Steelers have 5 pending free agents in their secondary.

As far as the draft, I like Jalen Ramsey (as a safety) from Florida State, Kendall Fuller from Virginia Tech, KeiVarae Russell from Notre Dame, and William Jackson from Houston. I need to see more of Clemson's Mackensie Alexander who has been getting a lot of love lately. William Jackson was my sleeper but I'm seeing some 1st round talk on him now. My super sleeper is Jeremy Cutrer from Middle Tennessee State. He was a former 4-star recruit on his way to LSU before academics sent him to Mississippi Gulf Coast Junior College. He is 6'2" and lanky and runs a 4.3 40. He will remind you of the LSU version (not the Cowboy version) of Mo Claiborne.

I've said it time and time again. I don't think the corners are the problem. They all have the same flaws. They don't bump when they are pressing and they rarely press and are 10 yards off their receivers. Carr didn't do that prior to coming here and they preach this is a bend but don't break defense..... I think they want to play corner like this and no mater who we bring in it's going to be the same problem.

I agree on the defensive tackles, but the team needs two linebackers to come forward and a quality wide receiver and running back.

Its a very interesting question, Jones may well be our best DB by the end of the season and has already shown the versatility to play anywhere in the backfield. He is also an extremely bright kid and going to the OP, will be more of a playmaker when he has more experience next season. I think the interesting thing with Jones and Scandrick is that the team will be able to move them all over the field next year and keep opposing QBs guessing as to where they will be.

We are still going to need at least three good corners. If they keep Mo, I think Jones and Scandrick are 1-2. Kick Scandrick or Jones inside on nickle and bring in Mo. Safety needs to be addressed either in the draft or in FA. Wilcox should not be on an NFL roster and Heath should be used sparingly to cover TE's (he's actually done that pretty well).

I think if we resign Mo for cheap and getting O Scan back we are fine at cb. We need a FS and linebackers (Ro don't care) and some beef at DT. And a DC that will call a blitz now and then.

I've actually been surprised with Heaths man coverage on dome of these tight ends. He's step for step with them and tries to make a play on the ball. Not bad Heath - sorry for all the bad things I said about you.

I've been disappointed in Wilcox. He takes bad angles and I thought that he would have cleaned it up this year. I was hoping anyways. I'd take an old Woodson / Roman Harper type right now as wilcox's replacement.

With Scandrick, Jones, and Patmon coming back next year as Cbs we aren't in too bad of shape. Probably better spending our money on Lb, Rb, DT, OL then WR, and FS

This team is going to have a lot of positions that need filled this offseason. LB I expect to be addressed via FA. 1Tech can be addressed via FA as well. 4-3 LBs can be had reasonably cheap via FA and so can 1 Tech. WR needs to be addressed as does RB. Throw in CB, safety and b/u QB and its going to be a tough offseason to fill all the holes.
