And the O line needs to learn that false starts and other things like that are of the bad. And we need to give the refs some new glasses considering how many they missed on the fins!

Of course we do...without T-New, we can't run our defense at ANY offense the same way. We have to keep a safety back for help when otherwise we would be using him on a blitz.

We're facing Rex Grossman next week. We don't need him for that game.

No one on the Bears scares me but Hester and he isnt even in most of the plays. If he needs another week, then so be it.

Which is exactly why Newman should rest one more week.

Is it just me or does it seem like Flo is good for at least one false start a game ???

I think a good analogy for the return of Newman...look at Indy last year.

They're D was PITIFUL, and then ONE guy came back in the playoffs...Bob Sanders...and they stuff L Johnson, beat NE, and then win the SB...

So it is POSSIBLE that Newman's return will make our pass D turn itself around, not to mention allow us to throw more exotic blitz packages.

Anyway, just a thought, and an example of how getting one star player back can really change a defense.

Not just you, he had at least 2 today. I would like to see him replaced next year. If we cannot get McFadden maybe Long from Michigan would be a good early pick

Just a hunch -- this defense will look a lot different when Newman returns, if he's healthy enough to play close to his normal level. If he is, we'll play a LOT less zone coverage, we can double the other receiver, and we can even be more aggressive with blitzes.

Right now, we're playing a LOT of zone coverage. And today is what can happen with zone coverage -- receivers are wide open sometimes, and you get easy interceptions sometimes. I'll gladly trade a few easy catches for a few easy interceptions, as long as the catches don't come at crucial times.

Problem is with our luck the catches DO come at a crucial time all too often. I rather our CBs played tight ALL the time!

We need Newman if we're going into the playoffs. The most important thing is not to rush him back into the lineup.

Wait until he is healed, not a week sooner!!!! Take a few losses in the meantime if necessary. Throw Reeves and Henry into the crucible. Patience, patience, patience!!

Dallas has two questionable games in the first 7 games of the season.

One is the Bears and the other is the Patriots.

Dallas could be 6-1 at the bye this year and not have Newman play at all if they can get by the Bears.

The Bears don't have any type of offense that really scares you. I'd try to concentrate on beating these guys and trying to rest newman.

St. Louis does have an offense, but they also are really bad on defense. I think Dallas can win a shoot-out with these guys. We are also in our house.

We play at Buffalo, but these guys aren't an offensive juggernaut. We should put up points on these people.

New England comes to dallas, but we also may be getting Glenn back. Yet if this was a loss, there wouldn't be any real big issues this early in the season.

Minn plays at Dallas. Stop Peterson and you can harrass the Viks young QB.

So if we could maintain and now use Newman for these games, and still oputscore the other teams, except NE, we would be 6-1 and with a bye before playing the eagles at their house. We also have ther Giants and Washington the next two weeks.

I think that might give Newman enough time to rest his foot and maybe mend.

Game time decisions. But this is a big time offense now.

If we were able to rest Newman for the NFC East stretch, that might be a really good thing.

Yeah... but we are undefeated without him. See how that works. Let him heal. We need him back at 100%... nothing less.

We just barely survived the Giants without him- only a smoking hot O saved us. Miami is nowhere near the threat they were= but made us sweat, so frankly I am NOT confident beyond the bears game without Newman.

One thing Grossman does do well is throw the deep ball. He and Benard Berrian are pretty good at it too.
