thankfully the Colts have almost no money.....imagine Strahan on one side and Freeney on the other....

Zona has a lot of cap space dont they? of course, what would they be able to give the Giants?

This could really put us over the top guys if we could trade for Strahan, as much as I didnt like him playing for the Giants, we could really use him since we have no talent at DE, but who could we trade?

it's posts like this that remind us the casual fan plays a lot of madden.

Last year? What about the year before?

....that was the Drew Bledsoe effect. Known to make even the Deadskins pass rush look lethal.

Strahan didn't pad his stats on Romo.

Well the original poster is getting nailed and I guess this is piling on but....

who the heck ya gonna cut on the front 7 for a guy that has "maybe" (if you are lucky) one year left in him...

I think he is done and you most likely wouldn't even get the one good year plus he would have to learn a new system which takes time. maybe if this was madden you could replace him with Bowen for insurance purposes...err strike that... he would be an OLB so that would mean having to cut one of the following Ware/Glymph/Ellis/Spencer...bad idea dude

right... you know Strahan was inactive for the second game against us last season? Kind of hard to pressure Romo from the sideline. And the first game, he got 2 sacks on Bledsoe.

I don't want Strahan (money, age, character, etc.), but if Ellis can make the transition to 3-4 OLB, why can't Strahan? He's always seemed faster and quicker than Ellis to me ...

why would someone who is arguably the best all-around DE in his generation want to switch positions with a year or two left in his career?

I'm not saying he would, or should, and I don't want us to go out and get hime. I'm just surprised so many people are saying he wouldn't fit a 3-4, when he could probably do it as well or better than Ellis, based on their physical skill sets.

His skill set isn't like Ellis at all...Ellis weighs a lOT more than Strahan. Strahan would have to play LB at his size and I don't know if he can. I don't think that we need another LB...I don't know if you realize that BOTH of our starting DE's weigh around or over 300 lbs, which is the standard for an effective 3-4 defense. I bet Strahan doesn't weigh over 250 right now...

I heard all Strahan is looking for in a new contract is a set of Dental Veneers.

Here's some more "physical" information - Strahan is 36 years old and has played DE exclusively for 15 NFL seasons. When Ellis made the switch he was 31 years old and had played DE for 8 seasons.
