I wasn't one pounding the table for Ramsey, but they play entirely different positions and the expected impact as a rookie from those positions is about as opposite as you can get.

Running back is by far the easiest position to step in and make an immediate impact. We all know that.
Cornerback usually takes a bit longer.

Dallas definitely hit it out the park though.

I wonder if Ramsey is still butt-hurt about not being picked by Dallas.

5) Jalen Ramsey, Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback: It's rare for even the most promising cornerback prospects to hold their own as rookies, but Ramsey is doing just that for a Jacksonville defense that ranks third in yards per game since Week 9. Billed as the "best player in the draft," the hyper-competitive Ramsey has flashed All Pro-level talent while covering No. 1 receivers. He was draped all over DeAndre Hopkins in Week 15, recording five pass deflections, a forced fumble and an interception while robbing the Pro Bowl wideout of a pair of touchdowns. He has all of the tools to develop into the NFL's next great lockdown cornerback.

It would have been great to draft them both. That was not possible. Elliott was a great pick and so was Ramsey. I think Elliott will lead this offense to the SB. Will he last as long as Ramsey...maybe not, but l will take those SB's over longevity.

What's missed in all of this is the resurgence of our secondary. If our secondary played as poorly as it did last year, I think the debate becomes a lot closer. You think this defense struggles to stop teams at times...if it had last year's secondary we would be in real trouble.

That's why getting rid of Jerome Henderson and inputting Greg Jackson and allowing Joe Baker to solely coach the corners was a HUGE move for us.

We were a man and man Cover-1 team last year and teams knew where to go with the ball each time and we couldn't get turnovers because of it. Wilcox was horrendous in zone coverage and I'm sure they weren't too nutty about Claiborne and Carr in zone coverage either. So they went with man.

Now we play a lot of man, man Cover-1, man Cover-2, Cover-3 and man Cover-3 (when Church is starting). Wilcox has looked entirely better than he did in 2015 and can actually play some zone. Claiborne has continued his upward rise and Anthony Brown looks like the cornerback this team has needed for the past 15 years.

I wanted Ramsey because the secondary was so awful and I never thought EE was as good as he looks right now. Even taking EE wasn't the worst move ever, but at the time we were doing at the expense of a future starting QB and nobody expected Dak to be as good as he is. Combine that with the vast improvement in the secondary it has ended up working out brilliantly...I just think you can count on 1 hand how many people actually thought all of those things would work out for this organization.

I was the #1 Ramsey opponent on this board. So glad we got Zeke instead of him. BTW, if you look at his twitter... He sounds like a saint. lol...
