The Eagles game was easily one of Zeke's best game since turning pro. Makes me wonder if the new left guard had something to do with it...

Let's consider that the OL is showing signs of returning to a higher level of performance. Dak stands to benefit by that and Zeke figures to prosper as well. Let's also consider that a dramatic turnaround the upcoming games could make a world of difference in our outlook. This version of the Dallas Cowboys' offense has been boosted significantly, imho, and the defense is doing well -- firing on all cylinders for the time being, thanks.

I'd say our situation is, at least, salvageable, if nothing else. Offensively, Amari Cooper and the ongoing development of Michael Gallup are encouraging signs of a better offense to come in the weeks ahead. Hurns is beginning to show signs of life as well. To be sure, we might well be at a disadvantage but we're far from finished just yet! After all, we're just now coming off life support. Things could be far worse. Could we win the NFC East? Could be!

But... We have lost a game where he has scored a TD and another where he had 120+ on the ground... And another when he has over 110 combined, so I mean that "fact" doesn't make much sense in that context because it's not like we haven't been using him in our losses.

I think we need to see at least two straight games of that kind of play before we can truly get excited. Philly being without their top 3 CBs might have just put their whole D out of whack and Sunday night might have been a fluke. I do agree that to the naked eye it looked a lot like it used to but you can really get burned in the NFL assuming an outlier like that is going to be the new trend. If they dominate ATL, as bad as that D is, I think we can get excited. But if they lay an egg in the running game and / or the offense as a whole we are probably back to square one.

Anything can happen, especially if their physical health doesn't cooperate as it should. Hopefully, they'll continue to improve and step up into a higher level of performance. I'm not expecting them to return to the level of 2016 but something considerably better than they'd been under Alexander would be a blessing.

Paul Alexander simply wasn't teaching the type of blocking scheme that our guys were suited to. The difference between what the OL was doing under him and what they normally were suited to just didn't seem to fit their talents. Returning to what they were accustomed to previously will have a positive effect on them, I'm pretty sure. Anyhow, we'll see what happens in the upcoming games. If they manage to hold up against the competition they they'll see in the next few weeks, it'll be a good sign. I think the staff realized that Alexander didn't suit our needs but we'll see. Bad rap or not, we were piss poor with him.
