The Gregory one looks like a big bullet we dodged. For Schultz he probably would have continued to produce good numbers here. We'll see how both do this year.
3 million in cap space is not a nothingburger.

Yeah paying that premium for Six Sack Randy would have been asinine. Much rather would have had Dorance and Dante.

I also love how arrogant and tone deaf some athletes can be. He got mad at Jerry for contract language, even though he was hardly available for most of his career?! Randy sucks.

Randy has all the talent in the world but cannot get out of his own way. We dodged a bullet there. I'm really thankful we let Schultz walk, Ferguson will fill that void, and tbh I look for us to draft a TE maybe as high as the 2nd round depending on who falls.

When you consider how the boys carried this bum for years with all his problems and everything else, him being mad at Jerry is truly the height of ingratitude.

Evaluating the true worth of our OWN players is where the clown show really looks stupid.
Mostly in the eyes of the fans because they don't do what the fans (couch GM's) want them to do.

I don't agree with everything either. But I can certainly understand things a good part of the time. Much more at play than we fans think.
Most teams value their own players actually. We just do not see it, as we pay attention on here. Not elsewhere.
Then a few loud mouths keep on repeating things over and over then that is all one sees. So it must be right, right?

Randy couldn’t be relied on. His personality and potential were great but he didn’t have any self control and had inconsistent performances.

I hated to lose him because we didn’t replace him (sorta like Amari) but it’s been a blessing in disguise. DA and Fowler were sufficient (14 sacks combined).

Lol. I have just one question. Did Gregory play in every game last season for the Broncos?

Jerry views his players like they are his friends, his kids, his business partners, his lottery tickets. He has no objectivity. He is old and senile. He is a drunk and a womanizer. He is a villain not a hero.

I think it was great how he was upset they put suspension verbage in the contract ..... Then he got suspended his first year in Denver
It was actually language about being fined, not suspension. Most NFL contracts have language that suspensions can revoke guarantees on monies. What the Cowboys had in their contract to Gregory was that the Cowboys could claw back guarantees if he just got fined by the league.

The clause Gregory objected to -- voiding his contract if fined/suspended for any drug offense or violation of the NFL's personal conduct policy

Yep,
Both Gregory and Schultz's contract scenarios saved future team value discussions on a pay for play level.

Cowboys got lucky by NOT caving in and overpaying at the last minute.

Quite the opposite of most past history.

Why go through all of that? Gregory hadn't signed anything, so just pull the offer if you got cold feet.

I think the Cowboys expected Gregory to be loyal to them and sign the agreement as written. Gregory told them to pound sand. Simple as that.
To appease Jerry.

Yawn. More Jethro and Jethro Jr defenders blindly bleating.

Seriously

Seriously, if it had come out the next day that he had committed that penalty on purpose to throw the game for outside gambling purposes, would it of shocked you?
