The clause Gregory objected to -- voiding his contract if fined/suspended for any drug offense or violation of the NFL's personal conduct policy

ESPN article

Anything else?
It was later clarified by agent they objected to the “fine” part of language as no teams have ever required anything like that. Players have had league suspension language in contracts in past.

To the OP and any one who is here to do one thing. Simple yes or no question is all I have. If Jerry wanted Dalton and Gregory here do you think he could of made it happen with the right contract offer? Yes or no please. Thank you.

Relevant part:

The salary forfeiture language in the Cowboys’ contract to Gregory is where the apparent breakdown began, according to Schaffer, which would void guarantees if fined.

“No other teams have that language in their contracts. No other teams. Never in 30 years have I seen that language,” Schaffer said.

Although teams typically void guarantees with suspensions, the Cowboys do this in the event of a fine as well.

Not defending them at all. Not blindly anyway. Some fans do blindly hate on them and anything they do.
Correct. Since I am not of that ilk, why in hades are you lumping me in w/ them? I don't do it to you.

My post was not directed at you, until you made your comment to me about always defending them.

If Gregory would not have backed out and left then we'd be tied up to another really bad contract.

Gregory, unknowingly, saved Jerry from himself.

This happened again just yesterday with Schultz leaving for Texans when it seemed that he was destined to be another bad contract for us.

Schultz is just standing on the shoulder of giants before him. Gregory walked so Schultz could run.

Thank you, Randy and Dalton. This Cowboys fan appreciates your efforts in making the Cowboys better.
Certainly worked out well for us.
Unintentionally or otherwise.

I wouldn’t put Schultz in the company as RGreg.
