We stopped the run when we wanted to last season.

Eagles and 49ers have scary rushing games and are main rivals?

49ers vs. Dallas in playoffs? SF averaged only 3.5 yards per carry.
Eagles vs. Dallas game 1: 3.5 yards per carry
Eagles vs. Dallas game 2: Merely 3.0 yards per carry

Our run defense wasn't in any way a big problem in our biggest games.

It’s the scheme. Nickel is weak vs C gap runs. Too many gaps for 2 LBs

But it‘s all connected. I tend to agree and want a LB and/or DT to help with the run. but, if we have 2 really good CBs and go with our big nickel D with 3 safeties and our CBs can be trusted a little more it will allow us to play one safety in the box FT and another in the box a lot as well. And in a more traditional 3 LB set we can play a safety in the box more then as well knowing we have two stud CBs

agree. We lacked juice on offense(KM was bad) and the oline was ragged. Which made us 1 dimensional.. It put the game in Daks hands and we know what was next. Which is why I fully expect us 2 draft wr,rb, and QB. I think we sign a weapon as well. I think Elijah Moore and Jarvis Landry.

We did an excellent job stopping the run and the pass vs the Niners by holding them to 312 total yards offense……I recall quarterbacks doing more damage to us via the run than was expected during the regular season.

We gave up 2198 rushing yards
327 to QB’s and a bunch of that was on 3rd down.

I understand this is the wrong forum for draft things, but this is what Walter Football thinks Dallas will do in the first. All the sky is falling people might understand there is more ahead for this team.

   The Cowboys are deseprate for help at receiver, but they also want to upgrade the interior of their defensive line to help them disrupt the Eagles and 49ers offenses.
   Siaki Ika is a massive nose tackle who can apply a bit of pressure on the quarterback.

I think we are more likely to spend on a NT than a 4-3 style DT.

It's really not their philosophy (Quinn's or FO) to draft NTs with a high pick unless they have real pass rush potential.

That's too bad because it has been the formula for every Super Bowl appearance in Cowboys history.

the Dallas Cowboys went to all eight of their Super Bowls between 1970 and 1995. During that entire span they had at least one DT that was drafted #5 overall or higher:

Bob Lilly
Randy White
John Dutton
Russell Maryland
Tony Casilles

The first year the Cowboys didn't have a high 1st round draft pick at DT?

That would be 1996.....the year after they won their last Super Bowl.
