Resign gluestick. Yeah, thats the ticket!!!!!Dumpster Diving is the plan...
The Cowboys are actually in good position. They can make moves to gain plenty of cap space.Dallas currently is stuck with contracts that are difficult such as Zeke, Dak, DLaw, Tyron Smith, Martin, etc. which forces them to have to either release/trade such players or restructure...kicking the can down the road.
They have placed themselves in a corner with 'their guys' and no way Jerry is of the age to move forward with a rebuild but the fact remains he needs to keep the team relevant so a rebuild won't happen although that is exactly what needs to happen.
Cause you know more than those that work their
The fans would have spent all of the money on Von Miller and Bobby Wagner. That would have shot the wad and the Cowboys probably don't make the playoffs. The problem comes when those of us fans who want better veteran free agent acquisitions try to convince the Cowboys FO to agree to it. Let's not assume we have the authority to convince them to do our bidding for them. That's what's called an exercise in futility. They do as they see fit. All we can do is be patient and hope for Jerry and Stephen to come to the realization that better vet free agents are necessary. Accept that fact and be fully convinced that what we want isn't likely to change this FO's way of doing things. They are 100% determined to tend to their business for themselves.
Jerry has em right where he wants em.The Cowboys are actually in good position. They can make moves to gain plenty of cap space.
A top 3 team in the NFC is a pretty good spot.Jerry has em right where he wants em.
We are Cap broke and will go to the thrift basket to pick up any Fa with a pulse that might still be there.Sure we all want free agents, it's a major need on this team. Often times we spend too much on our own players, when maybe we should focus on guys that were on other teams .
With that said, we have to have a plan on what to do this free agency period. We can't just say hey we've been quiet, let's make major moves. There's moves you can make, without going the bottom barrel way we've been going. That way doesn't seem to be working too well. I'll be honest we've picked up a few players this way, and we got lucky!
We usually wait until the waves of free agency settle, I'd like to see us get in that first wave. Bring in a top guy, then sit back and nab someone else that could really help us, but not be super super pricey. We make these moves without blowing all our money, draft well, and I think this can really help us in 2023! Please give your thoughts
In other words, do what teams with REAL GMs do at this time of the season......figure out who they are gonna keep, who they are gonna cut, who or what positions they will draft, and then what FA they will sign who can START for the team. yep, marvelous idea. Plugging holes left after all is said and done. Me likey.Sure we all want free agents, it's a major need on this team.
