We went from having the new triplets to needing new triplets in a year

I think it's going to be really important that Dez heal from these last surgeries, and be a full participant through the off season program, on into training camp and the preseason.

Being overly cautious bit us in the butt leading into this season, and we better not make the same mistake again.

What mistake was made? Not signing Dez to a deal earlier? We don't know how negotiations went down so I can't say that was a mistake. Not signing Murray was not a mistake. I thank Jerry for not signing him to a big deal. There were mistakes made but there were no mistakes made regarding the new triplettes.

Mistake- meaning resting Dez and having him barely practice during training camp or the preseason. The team was too cautious and wanted to prevent injury in practice (ala Lee two years ago), but I think that strategy backfired on them because he wasn't ready to go in week 1 against the Giants. It was obvious.

He needs to be out there and get reps during this upcoming offseason and preseason so he will be ready to go in September.

I never mentioned anything about Murray.

i love me some dez but he needs to decide what he wants to be and come into camp in great have and focused I don't feel that great about his consistency and ability to count on him right now. Anyone can do curls that's fun is he doing all the stuff he can to make sure his body is prepared for 16-20 games?

Injuries happen to everyone. There's no reason to expect he won't be back and hungry next year.

Great offenses are typically very predictable. However, even when predicting what they will do, they still can't be stopped.

The primary attribute of great offenses isn't deception, its execution.

Effective and consistent execution requires superior teamwork made possible by familiarity, cohesion, leadership, and hard work.

Not only was Murray critical to the success of the Cowboy offense, he played a key role in the success and health of his QB. Romo had his best season in 2014 while throwing the least passes of his career for a full season.

Dez was left with single coverage due to the opponent respecting the running game. When he was double teamed it meant there were less defenders in the box.

Opponent's respect for Dez's abilities meant there was more space to run in.

The Triplett's of the 90's were Ned that precisely because their individual success could never be separated from their combined success because it was a direct by-product.

You could not simply plug in a substitute, the familiarity and cohesion could never be sustained.

This is why losing Murray meant losing the new tripletts. This is why 12-4 turned into 4-12.. Take one leg of a tripod and it will fall.

The guy was injured the entire season. He was never 100%. If that's not enough, he had to deal with the three ring circus at QB.

Some of you guys are like vultures just waiting to pick things apart and circle the rotting carcass with the wind in your tail feathers.

How can anybody fault Dez for his season?

A broken foot..

came back in like 6 weeks and played?

What has his salary got to do with his desire?

I find him to be a Warrior.

Not a target.

We are so fortunate to have him and injuries have not been part of his game.

I think if we get him healthy..

and that's a big if..

he will be fine.

He needs to take it easy and take the time in the off-season to heal.

Hopefully he will.

I do not believe that Dez is going to phone it in now that he got paid, I think he loves playing the game too much for that to happen. However, Dez was a shell of himself this season and there have been players with the same injury that never returned to form, such as Hakeem Nicks with the Giants who was never the same player after his Jones fracture/refracture .

So while I totally expect Dez to return 100% next season, I would be lying if I said I had zero doubts. That is one reason why I think we should not rule out Treadwell at pick 4. If he can be a true superstar WR himself, then if Dez is compromised in any way, Treadwell can open things up for Dez and vice versa.

good post, but most wont like or agree with it.
The 2014 team is gone, they will have to build another team now.
by that I dont mean players, but the chemistry and team cohesion.
Dallas has lost the team unity and team confidence , and it will take time and success to get that back.

Dez will be back , but I dont know if he will be in 2014 shape and form.

We may need the help of Octomom to upgrade our defense.

This team can be turned around. In fact, I've already created a simple three step flowchart for Jerry Jones that greatly increases the odds.

1. Hire a new GM
2. Sign checks and ****.
3. If Cowboys win the Super Bowl within 5 years then go to #2.
Else,
Go to #1.

If you could turn back time and put the original Triplets in JG's offense, I'm not so sure the results would even be remotely the same.
